Was it something to do about Hezbollah?
(sorry to keep spreading the bad news that your orange alpha is senile)
Trump talks real shit. Hezbollah were supposed to be at the Jan 6th Insurrection? Wow, we have to remember that Trump was The President at that time, and now he has "revealed" that under his watch there were terrorists invading The Capitol Hill in support of his cause.........OMG.......What a Comedian!!

To all those people who want Canada to be the 51st state.
So picture the day it becomes official and you go check your bank account and you see a much lower the balance is on all of your savings, investments.
That's right, the current exchange rate is roughly 45%. So your $100,000 is now $69,000 roughly
Enjoy!

Edit.
Just checked the exchange rate, it's 48%

but should we have a referendum?
To give a serious answer, I don't think Canada's structure should be decided by randomly popping up referendums. Especially those induced by politics south of the border.

If a political party sees the need for change, they should get a mandate for change by campaigning for it and winning an election majority first. That would explore support for the issue and test the waters before serious investment is put into a referendum.

Note that if the US and Canada were to merge, King Charles would chuckle and then graciously welcome the colonies back. Perhaps send them some biscuits for their tea.

The vote wouldn’t be close, Canadians don’t want to be part of the United States.
Exactly! It's fucking stupid even discussing this.

But in case it isn't clear to some people, the US is a Republic and Canada is a Constitutional Monarchy. Canada's constitution spells out exactly how to dissolve the country in Section 41; and it would require unanimous support from all 10 provinces as well as unanimous support in the House of Commons. Basically EVERYONE must agree to it.

The federal parties and provinces can't agree on what to order for lunch, let alone agree to something as massive as merging with the US.

Sovereign countries are not squares on a Monopoly board that can be bought, sold, acquired or traded at will, and people need to stop acting like they are.

you didn't really think it through, did you

you would have exactly the same, smaller number but it would be in US dollars

value would be exactly the same

in hard currency and not in Monopoly money

where were all the "patriots" when Trudeau was destroying the country?

or are they all on government assistance and are afraid that they would lose it?

Who cares? You're putting money over self-respect.

Are you even Canadian? Because absolutely no one I know in this country would want to be a Yank, most of whom are complete and utter cunts.

Well, I am speaking for myself here.
I am also sure most Canadians would say the same thing as you can glean from some responses here.
The TERB political section is probably not reflective of the broad Canadian population. Political sections of a lot of forums I peruse appear to be dominated by progressive activism. They're very vocal and very motivated types of people.

You can't really see it from the TERB political forum as it is today and the past two months. Progressives are dejected and/or maintaining somewhat lower profiles after the twin shocks of the Trump election and the Trudeau resignation.

Give it time, they will be back in full force by mid-year.
