Who wants Canada to be a common place for School, Open Air, Mall, Cinema, Religious Places of Worship Mass Shootings?
Then the Gun killings and Violence among gangs will be accelerated in Canada!!
Who wants a Democratic System based on a stupid Electoral College that favours just two Political Parties?
One party supported by the world's richest oligarch, who bribed the Public to vote for the Convicted Felon and present President Elect!!
Then he buys a Platform like Twitter and uses it to censor those who posts negative but true propaganda of the Convicted Felon's shenanigans!!
No Canada is for the Canadians and we do not want a TrumPutin invasion of Canada!!
The one positive that could come out if a merger occurred for the Sensible Americans would be:

You Obviously did not understand the op’s question

You are parroting the same old allegation in your multiple posts, especially as you cannot comprehend the premise of all our posts!!
Meaning, that it is obvious to the vast majority of Canadians that we just do not want a stupid referendum based on a Convicted Felon's demented impulse pulled out of his derriere!!

Thanks for proving (once again) you have zero reading comprehension or are a very ignorant human being, or most likely, BOTH.

"No two nations in the world are as integrated, economically and socially, as are the United States and Canada.

We share geography, values and the largest unprotected border in the world.

Regardless of this close friendship, our two countries are on a slow-motion collision course—with each other and with the rest of the world.

While we wrestle with internal political gridlock and fiscal challenges and clash over border problems, the economies of the larger world change and flourish."

we would have cheaper internet and cell phones and American Netflix 💃🕺

it's a win win :)

Let the people decide !
I would say no, unless polls showed a higher interest in the question than the on average, 10% who said yes they would entertain the notion of becoming the 51st state.
Referendums cost on average about 300 million dollars, a large waste of money at this point with no chance of it happening.
I have not seen a poll yet where, as some say, over 50% want to become the 51st state.

I think it was more like 13%. 87% voted 'No'.
He is correct with that number from the Leger poll, just should have said "Of people who support the CPC 21% were in favor.
As you are correct with the overall result of the same poll.
I believe in the same poll less than 7% on the East coast from any party supported it while in Alberta it was 19%.
I found the quote from the article.

"Support for American statehood was the strongest among backers of the Conservative Party of Canada (CPC). Twenty-one percent of CPC supporters said they favored becoming a U.S. state, while 73% said they wanted Canada to remain independent."

Not sure if that allows the same kind of freedom of movement as the EU.
How so?
I can travel to the USA with a valid Canadian passport.
As an EU national, you have the right to travel freely in the 27 EU member countries as well as in Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway and Switzerland (non-EU countries but members of the Schengen area) carrying either a valid passport or a national identity card (ID card).
You may also be subject to on-the-spot police checks especially at internal border and in border areas (including ports, airports and railway stations) in EU and Schengen countries. These checks could include an identity check. In some of these countries, you may be obliged to have or carry identity papers and documents while on their territory.

In a democratic country like Canada, absolutely YES!
Yet it's MAGA Simpleton cult followers who want this referendum when they don't respect the democracy in the US when Trump lost to Biden.

Darwin takes to long to deal with you and your boys.

Have always thought that this is going to happen sooner or later, if we choose now it might be for the better.

They want us to join?.....

We get 100% state-funded health care for everyone in the USA; full workers' comp coverage; abortion protected in the Constitution; Christian fundamentalist bullshit banned from politics; and full proportionate electoral college and congressional representation for each of our provinces.

That way, we can basically run the States as "the Eleventh Province". 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦

Plus...... the beaver replaces the eagle as the national mascot. And they fly our flag instead of their stupid bullshit flag.

And they have to learn French in high school. And learn about Jacques Cartier.

Those are my MINIMUM terms and conditions!
