It’s time to watch what direction Juan Soto’s plane is going lol. And then Ross Atkins goes on TikTok doing the Macarena again like last year while chasing Ohtani, because he thinks he will be loved and he thinks that he accomplished something significant for this franchise..

I wouldn't enjoy another losing season, but if that's what it takes (along with decreased attendance) to get rid of these bozos, I'll settle for just listening to Dan and Buck.

Reality check.

Vlad and Bo will be free agents after this year along with an aging and depleted starting staff and a weak farm system

One more star hitter will not make us a contender

Trade everyone and build up farm system or there will be no future

In the meantime we get to watch future stars develop without caring about wins

This front office talks so many double edged sword, two face mumbo-jumbo, not really saying anything while moving their lips crap. I am so sick of it. I’m not even motivated to watch these guys right now because this front office is so unmotivating and I feel like we are trapped having to accept them.

These people really do not remember the opening days of the 2000s with the attendance being 30,000 type of thing. And then the next day with an attendance of 11,000. This is a reality. This is what happens in this town. It’s very possible if we don’t present a winning product.

The worst thing would be if they end up with an 84 or 85 win season and claim that they're on the verge of breaking through. These guys are shysters. Get them the hell out of here.

It took a good solid 7/8 years to completely lose fan interest after Carter’s home run. So here we are, Jose Bautista rejuvenated the dreams of Blue Jay fans with his home run and the 2015 team. And now how much longer will this nonsense be tolerated until fans stop caring? I think they are on thin ice and they don’t even realize it.

I don't look at Toronto sports teams with the same rose-coloured glasses as many who post in this forum because I lived in Montreal from age 8 - 23. On this page of this thread, I'm starting to see some of the former eternal optimists agreeing with what I was saying at the beginning of May.

On to 2025:

Here is the lowdown on qualifying offers to free agents, (the deadline to make qualifying offers is Monday, November 3), including who's eligible to receive one, who isn't, and how acquiring or losing a player who rejected a qualifying offer may affect teams in next year's Amateur Draft.

The skinny on qualifying offers is that no team would make the offer to a player whom they value at less than $21.5 Million for the 2025 season, hence no middle relievers will be made an offer they can't refuse.

The Blue Jays are on the Competitive Balance Tax payors list.

All I know is don’t pay attention to Jay‘s Digest. Those guys are Clickbait Clowns going on re Bob Knightingale and his recent tweets. Like it’s earth shattering news that’s about to change the face of MLB….. they always have some big recent report to announce and it’s literally nothing. Blue Jays Today is ok… they are fun and enthusiastic… But the two top Blue Jay podcasts in my honest opinion- 1) Blair & Barker and 2) The Walkoff Podcast. So interesting to listen to them and so informative.

I think a huge offer by the Jays to Juan Soto will increase the amount Juan receives from a different team. There's a much greater chance that they'll end up with Joc Pedersen on a one year deal.

Blue Jays Believed To Have Gotten Under Luxury Tax Threshold

The 2024 Luxury tax threshold is $237 Million. It's possible that the Blue Jays may have been marginally over the 2024 cap, which won't cost them much THIS year, but it will be REALLY expensive if they exceed the 2025 $241 Million threshold, because that would be three years in a row, and the financial penalty alone would be 50% of any spending above the line, and they would also lose draft picks and International Pool signing money - see the link in post #9 for details about Competitive Balance payors.

So Shatkins can either cheap out and lose fans and revenue or keep their jobs. Who would hire them after this?

I'm getting tired of seeing all the stupid predictions and rumors, speculations and names being thrown around from Google Insiders and Jays Nation etc. They're all just talking out of their collective ass and are BS. Maybe 1 prediction out of 100 comes true.

It wouldn't surprise me if the Blue Jays were about $1 Million over the luxury tax threshold for 2024 because somebody forgot to add the $2 Million for buying out Paul DeJong and his .136 OPS, from August, 2023.

How much would that cost them?

It's even worse from the Leafs insiders. 2025 free agent targets are already being rumored to be coming to Toronto.

Today they're talking about Luis Robert, Max Fried and Tyler O'Neil all coming to the Jays. Start the parade.

We'll be lucky if they end up with Joc Pederson and some 40 year old reliever and Atkins can say "I like our team."
