What you said was they started as socialist and became communist. And...[checking notes]....did any of these countries go from socialism to communism....or just directly to communism? The answer is....no. Directly into communism.
As for socialist countries....we can look at the Nordic countries like Sweden. They have freedoms. They have a strong economy. They are not failed states. Are they going to become communist? Nope, not gonna happen..

North Korea - Communists seize power.
Laos - Communists seize power
Vietnam - Communists seize power
Cuba - Communists seize power
Venezuela - Not communist, but has slid into a quasi dictatorship
All communist parties promise that. All seize power. Tell me an instance where the communist party won the popular vote in a free and fair election. I'll wait.

What the fuck are you talking about. I know it probably makes sense in your head. You realize that they were (for the most part) communist parties. They didn't need to promise anything, the seized power. Which means, they took with force and didn't get approval from the people.

Nepal has elected communist governments before.
There are many democracies where communist political parties exist and contest.
