Sometimes people need to hear the cold hard truth and it was obvious it was directed at those who are healthy and capable.
If you're healthy & capable then the only thing preventing you from improving your life is you. Relying on the government to hold you by the hand is not something anyone should aspire to.
This past summer I drove by a small encampment in a park and there were some young people playing lawn darts and chasing each other around with squirt guns and a couple were drinking beer. I also noticed two of them holding phones taking pics.
This was an encampment not just people playing in a park.
Make that make sense.
Like I said before the government is doing practically nothing to help them improve their lives. If you're homeless and get a job paying minimum wage guess what? You are still going to be homeless. What about offering them a supplement to their income so that working would
actually lead to you having a home. Because working for minimum wage is just going to keep you homeless so I can definitively see the lack of incentive. If the homeless were treated the same way we treat newcomers we would likely have very few homeless but they are treated as disposable citizens so we can focus and bringing in more immigrants. Make that make sense.

I would call that trying to still feel human and making the best of a bad situation. Would you have been happier to see them sitting in a circle and crying?
