Reasonable assessment. However, if thousands of Hamas fighters had initially invaded an Israeli Village and taken the civilians as hostages in a stadium plus hospital, then would Israel have retaliated in the same manner as they did in Gaza? Highly unlikely, as they would have tried to free them through negotiations, or more likely in a ground offensive so that the civilians lives would not be compromised. They would not raze these venues to the ground like they did in Gaza.
Sorry but you lost me. This fighting did start after thousands of Hamas fighters (and others) invaded an Israeli village and took hostages at a music festival.

Anyway, this whole conflict that is escalating to the West Bank is really sad. If the majority of the Governments around the Globe want a ceasefire, then it is time for all the sides involved in the conflict to find a resolution.
Unless I'm mistake, the actions in the West Bank are explicitly targeted raids on wanted terrorists, not a general invasion and air campaign. I know there are people who want to portray it as being the same as in Gaza but it doesn't seem the case. Looking at images and footage in Jenin etc do show damage to buildings but every image I've seen has been close cropped as the damage was to buildings that were directly used in combat, not part of a widespread air campaign. Considering these raid have coincided with Hamas stepping up West bank activities including attempted bus and car bombs, it makes sense that Israel is trying to stop those groups.

As for ceasefire, I'm totally on board and as franky's tweet admitted, so are most Israelis, especially as it seems Hamas has started executing hostages. The trouble is how to get Hamas and netanyahu to actually agree; Hamas didn't even send anyone significant to the latest rounds of negotiations.

That's the same elite racism ...
About time you admit your elitist racism. Your continual refusal to hold non-whites accountable for their actions and insistence that their voices can be ignored has made it evident to the rest of us for a long time.

A reminder.
The ICC is in the process of issuing warrants for genocide.
The ICJ has ruled the occupation of Palestine is illegal and Israel must return all of Palestine, including Gaza and the West Bank, and pay restitution.
...
Is that the same ICC and ICJ that demanded Hamas immediately and unconditionally release their hostages? It's been hundreds of days and Hamas' only response has been to execute them.

That lie has been debunked. The study says nothing at all like that.

Show us where the study says that or you admit that you are a liar..
There are similar studies about other conflicts. The fighting in Yemen (you know, that genocide and mass deaths of Arabs Frank doesn't care about) listed around 150,000 killed directly in combat and another 230,000 (including 85,000 children) dead as a result of disruptions to healthcare, food, and water supplies.

You lie again.

You back zionism, the most violent and vile racial supremacist movement on the planet.
You argue for more genocide based on skin colour and religious beliefs.

Stop accusing anyone of racism and look at yourself.

You lie

Israel refused the ICC and ICJ demands.
The ICJ Provisional Measures were directed only at Israel, not at Hamas.
The UN SC ceasefire resolutions called for both sides to ceasefire and release hostages.
Israel refused, not Hamas.

Israel holds more hostages.
Every accusation is a confession.

so you saw some children pulled out of the rubble and you extrapolated that data on 40,000 people and came to conclusion that most are civilians? Am I getting this right?
Not just pulling children out of the rubble. I do go by the Research and Fact Checking by the media. In February The BBC reported their fact checking Of the IDF Claim that the killings are mainly the Hamas Militants...... 10,000 of them. of course they did not provide evidence that 10,000 militants were eliminated!!

More recently Al Jazeera reported the following percentage of women and children were the victims:

.

Reuters has done a more recent assessment:

So can you post your numbers!!

Yes, what Hamas did was unacceptable after they took those hostages and killed over 1000 others. it was also shocking that the Israeli army was slow to respond to counter those Hamas invaders. But all I was trying to say is that if Hamas kept those hostages in Israeli Hospitals then Netanyahu's plan to free them would not be as stark as what the IDF did to the Gaza Hospitals and residences!!

I have watched several foreign media coverages of the bombings of residences in Gaza. Difficult to spot any cropped images of the buildings and hospitals in Gaza. They look very realistic. The kids are not only starving, but now with the outbreaks of MPox and Polio, the numbers are expected to be much higher than just the 40,000.

Remember that Hamas accepted a ceasefire deal in July. Hamas had agreed to it. But Netanyahu maintained his stance that he wanted Hamas to be eliminated.

If Qatar media puts women and children at 60% it probably means it’s 30% at most. United Nations claim that typically in modern wars it’s 9:1 ratio ie 90% of victims are civilians.
https://press.un.org/en/2022/sc14904.doc.htm
And IDF in gaza has the worst density plus tunnels to deal with.
So it seems IDF is very careful with civilians. I have heard a lot of whining but zero evidence that IDF behaves materially worse than any other army in any recent war.

No, Israel is intentionally targeting civilians and civilian infrastructure.
Killing civilians is their goal, starving them to death the proof that they aren't interested in targeting Hamas.
Attacking the West Bank is proof they aren't attacking Hamas, they are attacking Palestinians.

Nobody kills as many children, journalists or medics as Israel.

The term "Casualties" does not necessarily meaning deaths or those killed. It is a loose term to also refer to those being injured, upended from their homes and forced to flee, or missing in action. Now in the Gaza War there are still upto 20,000 missing, around 95,000 wounded such as losing their limbs and some other life threatening injuries. Others are victims to diseases, malnutrition and unaccounted deaths as a result of poor water quality that is controlled by Israel.

This is the concern from the UN:

Intensifying conflict, malnutrition and disease in the Gaza Strip creates a deadly cycle that threatens over 1.1 million children
Cases of diarrhea in children up 50 per cent in just one week, with 90 per cent of children under two now subject to ‘severe food poverty’

With the indiscriminate bombings of hospitals and schools that have been totally destroyed by the IDF, that has been confirmed by healthcare volunteers in that region, I cannot understand how only half the reported 60% is supposed to be the Gospel Truth!!

Numbers aside, the report never assigned blame to any party, Israel, Hamas or otherwise.

Geno repeatedly claims that the Lancet says "Israel killed 186,000". Even the paper submitted by the authors never attributed blame for any number of deaths on any party. Their mission was nothing more than to find a number of casualties without saying who is at fault.

Bullshit, the letter has not been debunked.
It stands.
Deflection, Geno.

It is your claim that the letter says that Israel has killed 186,000 is what has been debunked.

You have yet to provide a quote from the letter that backs up that claim of yours. Show us the quote that says that all of those deaths are Israel's fault.

Since there is no such quote to be had, you know that you are lying and repeating it over and over. Repeating lies was a Nazi propaganda technique. Promoting the final solution is another technique you share with Hitler.

Shazi, the report references the UN reports that clearly blame Israel for the likely 186,000 killed.
You have to be a total moron or really bad hasbara troll to think that anyone else is to blame.

Israel chose genocide.
Own it.

This is a moronic line of argument, shazi.
The report's footnotes supply all the details.

Only a moron would think anyone other than Israel has dropped 3x Hiroshima's explosives on Gaza.
