The Ontario Science Centre is closing. What does that mean for the community?

I see, so you think when people buy a condo they just buy the toilet or just buy the air conditioning.
This is getting even more stupid.

The price of land is added in with the price of the build, including toilets and AC, skoob.
Same with parking spots, you build and buy a parking spot the price of the land is part of the cost.

You've never bought a house or condo, have you?
Do you still live in your mother's basement?
Well no one can say I didn't give you at least 3 tries at explaining yourself and you bombed.

Therefore, as I stated clearly, you are a misinformation spreader. (we all already knew that, but it's nice to confirm it fairly).

Lets add housing and housing pricing to the list of subjects that you are unable to understand.

In Kinga we trust.

Having done concrete forming work in my youth, I looked into the concrete fatigue at The Big O in Montreal and how it applies to the Ontario Science Center. There is no correlation. With The Big O it's a race against time, with OSC it's government cuts to maintenance projects. The only problem it had was the escelators, the mechanics of which should have been upgraded years ago. Willful sabotage on the part of the government.

Let's add "making shit up" and "spreading misinformation" to your list of accomplishments. Oh wait...those are already on there.
Nevermind.

ps You need new tactics.

Are you about to declare you've won the debate because you don't the cost of toilets and land are included in the pricing of condos?
That's what you usually do next, you lose the debate, declare it all off topic and then declare you won.

There is more evidence that DoFo is wasting Ontario money.
Shouldn't you be telling us he should waste more of it now?

I don't have to declare it because it's true. You think the cost of land is factored into every aspect of a housing unit? That's hilarious.

Here's a clue...the cost to build underground parking space is a calculation based on the time, labour, material and engineering required. Has nothing to do with how much someone purchased the land for. Land cost does not factor into that despite your desperate attempts to make that argument..

You claimed it included it. The article doesn't mention that at all. So the verdict here is your talking our of your ass and spreading misinformation.

For that reason you lost the debate as anyone would.

btw Norm Di Pasquale is your moral compass? hahahaha now that explains everything!

Better infrastructure?
Yes. The only access to the site is Lakeshore which is rammed during every rush hour and doubly so when events are going on. You've mentioned the parking situation yourself. How do you think those cars will get there?

Yes, the province wants to make the spa even more attractive by adding an expensive subway stop (tunneled through infill) but judging by metrolinx performance on Eglinton, who knows if any of us will be alive then.

A 99 year lease, a massive underground parking lot, and a subway stop for the benefit of a private corporation. The Science Center is just window dressing and motivated mainly by developers waning the crosstown site.

You must be an easy mark.
Did someone sell you a house and tell you the land costs weren't included?
Did you check the deed at the registry to find out?

Its really quite amazing that you think condos are built without purchasing land and putting that expense into the price for the condos sold.

What is even funnier is that you are still arguing you're right.
What is pathetic is that you are stuck on this point and refuse to discuss the topic, DoFo fucking up Ontario Place and the Science Centre.

Anywhere in the city will be affected by traffic. The only way to get to the existing OSC is via the DVP which is rammed at most times. So traffic is a constant in that equation.

I don't give Metrolinx any points for taking so long on projects. But transportation projects are required and are always expensive and usually take way longer to complete than planned. They pay off in the long run as the city grows. Look at Boston's "Big Dig"...many problems, took a long time to complete and went way over budget...but it's done and has benefited the city.
You can't grow a city without developers and investment from the private sector. Someone has to invest. Someone needs to have the means to build at a large scale.

Toronto at one time had one of the best public transit systems globally. Then they bickered about what to do for decades and nothing was done. Now Toronto's public transit is a joke globally.

When is the DoFo appointed head of Metrolinx going to open the Eglinton line, skoob?

Why did DoFo sign contracts with Therme when they had no Canadian employers but did have contracts with conservative lobbyists?

Remember I gave you 3 tries at proving your claim and to show where in that article it mentioned land cost being included?
You failed and continue to fail.
I can't fix stupid and arguing with someone like you who just invents an alternate reality and continually spreads misinformation is futile.
Aside from the entertainment value of course.

When you educate yourself on this topic we can resume. Otherwise everything you are saying is fantasy.

Why does the science centre need to stay in Toronto?
Put it in another city that has room for it with easy access for traffic.
Oakville has lots of vacant land north of highway 5.

Yes, and I remember you tried to argue that the costs of toilets and AC aren't included in the price of condos either.
What next, are you going to declare that the costs of labour and materials aren't included along with the costs of land in the final condo prices?

You really think developers don't add up all the costs to build, including materials, labour, land and profit and include that in the prices for condos and parking spaces?

Why move it at all?
Its cheaper to fix it and celebrate that being near a new subway will allow it to draw more crowds.

Actually, you fucked up again and can't even describe what someone else actually said. But we all know why.

Because that's what you do when you're cornered...just make shit up and put words in other people's mouths.

Some take offence to that.

I take it as you losing an argument.

Thanks for confirming you lost another one.

Hey comrade,
You think the land price is also included in the cost of a toilet they install in a unit?

Trillium has been digging to see who is behind the Therme Spa contract.
Looks like its insiders from the Mike Harris 'common sense' government.

Who else could get an insider, no bid, contract with 95 year lease to the best bit of public land available in Toronto.

Sounds like a Bill Gates conspiracy theory where people somehow link him with everything they find wrong on the planet.

You said this.
You think they add the cost of the land to each toilet they install. Yes you do.
That was my point.
And you still can't admit that the info I shared says nothing about land cost being included. You know why? Because it's not.

Underground parking can cost up to approx $160k per spot to build. You think the price of that would change according to how much the land cost? No.

Just like the cost of building a home is not related to the land cost. It's based on square footage as the calculation.

The selling price of the home may be affected by location, but not the cost to build it.
