he wants every corner store having booze and I just read the cost will be 50 % more. SMH I don't think he knows what hes doing.
That's misinformation you are peddling. No one said it will cost more. It's just speculation based on market. Stores can charge whatever they want, doesn't mean anyone will buy it from them.

For example, I purchased some wine at my local supermarket and it was cheaper than at the LCBO store. I suspect some other products could cost more.

If a store is charging too much they will need to adjust to remain competitive. That's how the free market works.

Same article...
From the article: "It will be whatever the market will bear, say retail analysts and alcohol industry experts."

Also from the article: “If you’re a customer, you’re going to be like, ‘three minutes away I have another option, so no thanks.’ ”

Nothing stops a corner store from setting high prices just like any vendor can price things as high as they want so that part is true...but they will fail if people can just go elsewhere to buy it so they'll need to be competitive.

You do neither until you can learn how to read so you don't keep spreading misinformation.
The Star and CTV is notorious for quoting unnamed so-called "experts" which could just the reporter expressing an opinion. There are "facts" backing up this mentioned.
People Frank eat this when it agrees with their existing bias
More experts would say that increased competition lowers prices.

This one is getting drowned out by all the other scandals but deserves a good look.
DoFo wants to put beer in corner stores for the election.
He can't provide health care, family doctors and is cutting education massively so thinks this will get him reelected.

In order to do this he has to pay the Beer Store $225 million for broken contracts along with another rumoured $600 million in fines.

He's offering contracts for beer to the same wedding guests, a move that will cost Ontario in billions in profit from the LCBO.

Thing is, Ford has never cut a dollar from education and he's increased health care spending each and every year.

I'm actually quite disappointed in that. I thought he was going to get serious about balancing Ontarios budget. While he has reduced the deficit financing significantly, he has not eliminated it.

But I will still vote for him because the alternative is too frightening to consider.

Here you go:

Shhhhhhhh...you'll shatter the narrative Frankfooter is desperately trying to peddle in his DoFO misinformation campaign.
Shame on you!

So, as a recap,

DoFo's plan will give Ontario:
1) higher prices for beer and wine
2) more debt with less cash to the LCBO
3) $ 1 billion in debt for cancelling contracts
4) cutting good paying union jobs for maybe more corner store jobs

That's everything you want for Ontario?

Not accurate, captain.

Health care:
1) DoFo is privatizing nurses, so he's paying way more for contracted nurses over publicly hired nurses
2) DoFo is privatizing surgeries and vaccine delivery, both of which cost more than public services
3) DoFo is cutting or freezing payments to family doctors, so they are leaving in droves to set the stage for more private clinics that will end public health care
4) DoFo is cutting funding to hospitals, with ER's closing and a few going bankrupt
5) DoFo's bill 124 is costing the proving billions which he uses as proof he's 'increasing health care funding'.

So the only increase is from his totally fucked Bill 124, where he froze wages forcing public nurses to leave until the court ruled it unconstitutional. Now Ontario has to pay for that mistake instead of increasing funding to family doctors, hospitals and public services.

Education:
1) DoFo froze tuition at universities forcing them to rely on international students
2) DoFo froze wages to teachers
3) DoFo froze maintenance at schools

Now we have fewer international students and all Ontario universities planning massive cuts for this next school year. Teachers won wage increases which DoFo will claim as increased education funding and all schools are suffering massively from lack of maintenance.

So no, DoFo has totally fucked up health care and education. He is spending more while forcing cuts in services and giving Ontario the biggest debts ever.
He's failing miserably.

Ford is gearing up for an early election because he doesn't want to wait til the greenbelt investigation is done and points out his corruption. It'll be a year early in '25 instead of '26.

DoFo's plan will give Ontario:
1) competitive prices for beer and wine, with more choice and convenience
2) better prices as money is saved by not having to pay union hacks charity wages
3) savings on eventually abolishing the ritzy liquor store buildings that no one cares about
4) a future with less public union influence

btw no other provincial party in history has spent more on education and healthcare for the province while not increasing taxes.
They're here to stay for a while longer despite your efforts to peddle misinformation about them.

Ford government trying to hide significant cuts to education funding
For Immediate Release: Monday, April 29, 2024
TORONTO, ON — The Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation (OSSTF/FEESO) calls out the Ford government for making cuts to core education funding at a time when students need more support, not less.
“Once again, I am disappointed to see that the Ford government’s funding for the 2024-2025 school year will not keep up with the rising costs that school boards are facing,” said OSSTF/FEESO President Karen Littlewood. “Student needs are increasing and becoming more complex, and we are in the midst of an historic teacher and education worker recruitment and retention crisis. Despite all this, the Ford government has failed, yet again, to provide the funding that students need. Educators are fed up with being expected to keep doing more with less.”
The Ford government continues to make misleading claims about supposed “historic” amounts of funding in public education. However, when accounting for inflation and increases in enrollment, over $2 billion is missing from core education funding for the 2024-2025 school year when compared to the 2017-2018 school year. Funding per pupil has also failed to keep up with inflation as the Ford government has cut effective funding per student by almost 10 per cent since 2018.
“I would like to be able to say to students and staff that public education will be properly funded this year. Sadly, that’s not the case. It’s more of the same from this government,” added Littlewood. “For example, this government has repeatedly claimed that they are increasing access to mental health services for students. In reality, Ontario schools are losing qualified mental health professionals to the private sector because of this government’s deliberate shortchanging of education.”
The province’s underfunding of public education has led to worsening working and learning conditions in Ontario schools, which has fueled an unprecedented staffing crisis for teachers and education workers. This has had a huge impact on students’ access to mental health services. High numbers of psychologists, social workers, and other mental health professionals are leaving education because they can find higher wages and better working conditions elsewhere. Wait times continue to grow for students across the province who need access to vital mental health supports.
“The Ford government can make all the distracting announcements they want about cell phones or vaping but without investing in the qualified, caring professionals that students need in schools and classrooms, student mental health needs will continue to go unaddressed,” concluded Littlewood. “More and more families are forced to turn to private services, if they can even afford it. For families that can’t afford private mental health services, their children simply go without those supports that should be guaranteed in schools. There is nothing historic or commendable about repeatedly failing to meet student needs.”
OSSTF/FEESO will continue to analyze the core education funding information released last week and will share information with members and the public on funding for the upcoming school year.

Yeah sure...union publications always crying poor. No surprise. What kind of self-serving info do you expect them to publish? What they mean by "education funding" is actually "pay increases for our members".

Here's a question...if student enrollments have been trending downwards for several years, why do we need to keep the same number of teachers employed?
