Will we ever know why he missed 2 games?

Other than that look at the pp % of who went through first round and look at the Leafs... That's why they are playing golf next week.
The assistant coach who manages the PP will be fired.

Time to break up the core 4. Matthews, Nylander staying. That Means Marner and Tavares are gone. That means Matthews is the captain. Knies and Woll need contracts soon.
According to Capfreindly Marner and Tavares have NMC, and their contracts expire after the 2024-2025 season. We are stuck with the core 4 for 1 more season.

Matthews, Riley and Nylander are the only firepower they need. Everyone else needs to be a bone cruncher.

Florida could easily crash and bang their way to another final. But back to the Leafs keep Matthews Nylander, Domi, Bertuzzi, Knies, keep the goalies. Get rid of Reilly…. way over rated. Get something for him. Time to move on from him. He’s just average and not that physical. He was on the ice for that OT goal. Pasta on the blow by. How do you get a break away on a dump in?

Check my stats, I could be off, but I think I've watched 6 game 7 series games and the Leafs are 0 for 6. We could of made a fortune betting Boston. Could of , would of, should of. DIDN'T !

The Price is wrong bitch!

When you make the wrong decision on a teams future, the impact could last for over a decade. That's what happened in the 2015 entry draft, the Loafs needed to draft a defenseman with their fourth pick. There's a reason why Mark Hunter never became Loafs GM, he made the selection out of personal preference instead of what's best for the team. Did he honestly believe that Marner would become the next Martin St Louis?

Matthews won a game on his own and set up the game 7 goal. He missed 2 games and was not 100% in game 7.
He's clearly the best goal scorer in the league right now. He can also pass and is a big guy.

Nylander missed 3 games yet still lead all Leafs in goals. His 3 goals in 4 games is a 62 goal pace. He's performed in every playoffs the last few seasons. 97 players have a higher cap hit in this the final year of his contract. He is clearly better than most of those players.

Tavares is coming to the tail end of his contract. Yet still only 6 players have a higher cap hit. Clearly he's overpaid and it's not even close. In a salary cap era this is important.

Marner is currently making just under 11 mill. Good player but I don't think he's 11 million good. Particularly in the playoffs.
A small player like Marchessault is effective because he gets right in there. Marner is very much a perimeter player.

not always sure...

I wouldn't just focus on Reilly on that goal.
If you watch Mitch Marner coming off the bench and move into defensive coverage by marking his man on the play you'll see a prime example of why the Leafs are on the golf course again.

It doesn't matter so much though, either of these teams would be demolished by the Panthers.

I think Marner played with injuries. He came back earlier than he should have.

Matt Dumba is not a goal scorer.

Matt Dumba had 25 hits in the Florida series. He’s not there to score goals.
That's soft compared to Benoit. Dumba is a soft player and we complain about how soft the Leafs D-core is. Dubas might like Dumba but not Treliving.
