Yes. The drug was developed as a treatment for diabetes and as I said it is covered by OHIP, but you must get a referral from your doctor that it is to be used for diabetes. The reason it became so popular for weight loss started when Americans who were not covered by their health plans found that it was so expensive they started buying the drug in Canada. Because of that, the company that makes Ozempic, Novo Nordisc in Copenhagen, where my daughter in law works is having trouble keeping up with the supply demands.

A lot of people south of the border are ordering through companies like this without a prescription.

There's a burgeoning peptide movement going on right now in the biohacking realm.

Buyer beware.

It's not me who says so, it's what studies have shown.
If you think someone can eat 500 calories and exercise and not lose weight... Have you considered voting for Trump and taking advice from Andrew Taint?
That's not a red herring, it's a bag of doritos.

The reality is that no one with normal mental abilities can maintain that mental state and ootherwise lead a normal life.

All you guys areguing about simple claories in-calories out, holocaust camp starvation self admittedly say you are unable to to what you say is required to not be fat fucks. Despite being obvioulsy intelligent enough to not only ly know better, but to preach.

And then dismiss medication that can help achieve and maintain weight loss for a better, healthier life. Nothing to stop you from also working out and eating less. This, and other medications, simply help.

Do whatever pleases you all. 🤷‍♂️

Yes, to a degree. But weight loss and management is quite a complex metabolic process.

Like mental health, obesity is a serious and growing issue facing our health care system. If there are medications that can help, it's less expensive and better for everyone than taking the hard-ass approach. Some of us can eat deep fried fish and chips and not get fat. Some can't eat tuna sandwiches and celery without not being able to lose or keep weight off long term.

This is proven medical science.

Otherwise, matabolic modifying drugs like the semiglutides would not work.

Good info

Thx

Not interested in a drug you are on for life as I do not need it

I guess I am actually lucky. While a bad diet makes me fat,
I can get it off unlke some with bad metabolism , according to Schlong

I lost 30 pounds from keto diet and never gained it back.

I no longer worry about carbs just calories.

But, I did get strong cravings for carbs on the keto diet so I would toast some pumpernickle bread
then add honey which would slow my diet for a day but I still lost 3 pounds a week
and found it easy to do.

I also had 14 hour window between meals so basically no food until 1 PM
which was a low carb salad of baby sprouts and tuna then
very low carb supper at 7 then zero carb snacking until 11 pm

14 hour fast is not required but I just threw it in and has stayed a practise

It is easy to skip breakfast. It is BS that it is an essential meal and you will lose energy.
Marketing BS from the egg and cereal industry, we are so easily manipulated

Watching the scale drop every day was the motivation I needed

I also work out a lot

Yup, I agree it is all about calories in calories out. Some people can eat anything scenario is 1) they are not consuming over the maintenance calories because although they may be eating junk, they are not big eaters and move a lot during the day. If the average 5Ft 9 male eats 2000 calories a day at least 6 days a week and adds in moderate exercise, they will not be fatties.

Just use apple cider vinegar for weight loss.
It works just as good without scary side-effects

I lost 10-15 pounds just by taking ACV capsules 3x daily.
And I'm not the only one

An apple cider vinegar drink a day? New study shows it might help weight loss

Made from fermented apples and naturally high in acetic acid, apple cider vinegar has been popular in recent years for its purported health benefits – from antibacterial properties to antioxidant effects and potential for helping manage blood sugars.

Its origins as a health tonic stretch much further back. Hippocrates used it to treat wounds, fever and skin sores.

An experimental study, released today, looks into whether apple cider vinegar could be effective for weight loss, reduce blood glucose levels and reduce blood lipids (cholesterol and triglycerides).

The results suggest it could reduce all three – but it might not be as simple as downing an apple cider vinegar drink a day.

What did they do?

A group of scientists in Lebanon did a double-blinded, randomised, clinical trial in a group of overweight and obese young people aged from 12–25 years.

Researchers randomly placed 30 participants in one of four groups. The participants were instructed to consume either 5, 10 or 15ml of apple cider vinegar diluted into 250ml of water each morning before they ate anything for 12 weeks. A control group consumed an inactive drink (a placebo) made (from lactic acid added to water) to look and taste the same.

Typically this sort of study provides high quality evidence as it can show cause and effect – that is the intervention (apple cider vinegar in this case) leads to a certain outcome. The study was also double-blinded, which means neither the participants or the scientists involved with collecting the data knew who was in which group.

So, what did they find?

After a period of three months apple cider vinegar consumption was linked with significant falls in body weight and body mass index (BMI). On average, those who drank apple cider vinegar during that period lost 6–8kg in weight and reduced their BMI by 2.7–3 points, depending on the dose. They also showed significant decreases in the waist and hip circumference.

The authors also report significant decreases in levels of blood glucose, triglycerides, and cholesterol in the apple cider groups. This finding echoes previous studies. The placebo group, who were given water with lactic acid, had much smaller decreases in weight and BMI. There were also no significant decreases in blood glucose and blood lipids.

People are influenced by what works for a few individuals but have no concern with statistics that are backed by science

Marketers know this and manipulate us by our lack of science

This is seen in multi level marketing

Yes a few have made good money at it but 99% of those who try fail and they go unmentioned
and fools fall for it

It is called appealing to greed as fools see easy money

Same with scam diets

It is called the merry dance of capitalism

Unlike you, I do not need Ozempic.

Could you read what I've always posted about 2000 calories, workout, cardio, and weights you're golden. Try it.

Add in 5 grams of creatine a day for a little boost.

Dream on! I don't care what you think but I remember you posting a pic of your arm during the pandemic and you are a fluffy individual. Trust me, cut down to 2000 calories a day. You will thank me in about 5 months. I'd like to say 3 months but based on that pic, it will take a tad longer.
