He would probably be ok with state-level forces called in by the Governor, though.

In the meantime, I've seen a lot of fairly restrained cops physically removing a lot of overly entitled, rich, mainly white profs and students who appear to think they can break the law with impunity and yell "foul" when they find out they can't.

I'd like to think that Kent State can't happen again in America. Unlike most of the others on this board, I remember it taking place.

It's a nice, dramatic flex because everybody is doing the "It's like 1968 all over again!" bullshit.

But the cops also shouldn't have been sent in in most cases.

I don't know why you would think that.
I think it is perfectly possible to have Kent State again (and Jacksonville) or even the University of New Mexico incident.
But, to be fair, with the advent of more "non-lethal" means, the odds are less just because the cops have more options before resorting to their guns.

What are the cops supposed to do when the students refuse to move? The cops then have to do their jobs and that involves physically moving the students. Every physical confrontation between cops and occupiers / protestors is pretty much the same.

Isn't the issue really WHEN the occupiers get turfed rather than IF ??

They have to move some time. They can't occupy the premises indefinitely. Some of them would stay for weeks. And some of the presence is genuinely intimidating to Jewish students.
