The Independent parliamentary budget officer has confirmed this multiple times. Most of the money collected comes from rich Canadians and is redistributed to the 80% lower income families.
It's not only "rich" Canadians that depend on fuel that is used to manufacture or deliver everything that every other Canadian needs to pay for as well.

Carbon tax and rebates are not calculated based on your your income. Everyone pays the same. Everyone gets the same rebate (depending on household members, etc).

If the whole point of this scheme is to improve the environment, can you explain to me, mathematically, how each dollar collected in carbon tax improves the environment? Mathematically, not theoretically.

I thought I heard today from the talking head scientists that yes, climate change is a thing. There is however little we can do about it, except adapt to it. Sounds OK.
Actually there is something that can be done...make money off people's fear and good intentions.

You've been played, skooby poo.

You've been told to whine about the carbon tax while the cons make you pay more in taxes, gas prices and natural gas.
You are such an easy mark that you won't even check, you will just keep defending them as they rip you off.

You are the perfect conservative voter.
An easy mark.
And another opportunity blown to show your math.

Would you agree that someone who blindly hands over money for something they can't explain is a sucker?

Because if you don't agree...you sure prove it every time you respond with deflections.

........................
Justin Trudeau is a stupid man who was never even remotely qualified for the job
and he made a mess of it
..........................................
Don't forget there are people who actually buy into Trudeau
and Guilbeault's carbon tax. Surely both are stupid climate
clowns. But if you have been reading some of the criticisms
of Poilievre's opposition to the carbon tax in the media you
have to be shocked by the mindset of the stupid idiots who
actually believe the tax is a solution to climate change.
These are the idiots who will vote for Trudeau again in
2025. Our leaders (both the Conservatives and the Liberals)
ought to explain to the public taking money away from those
who are already struggling to make ends meet so they can
receive more funds back at a later time is not the right
way to reduce their carbon footprint. That should help with
implementation of less divisive climate policies in the future.

climate change is a thing ?

The thing from the Adams family is a thing
the World War II era Type 82 Kübelwagen, is a thing

climate changing has been occurring for billions of years
multiple ice ages confirm this

man made climate change is a thing, as it is a political narrative
a political narrative that does not even remotely stand up against the rigorous of proper scientific discovery

No, you pay more the more fossil fuels you use.
You own a hummer you pay more.
You have a mansion, you pay more for heating.
If you're renting and don't own a car, good for you.
If you’re renting and don’t own a car you are a LOSER and prob want as many government handouts as possible.

You geniuses choose the warmest winter in history to declare an end to the fight against climate change...LOL. Let PP do his con act, dismantle healthcare, the CBC, pensions and social programs if people are stupid enough to follow him into the abyss of conservative greed, division, homophobia and racism. . Measles is back thanks to the anti vax crowd that PP courts. Maybe he'll crack down on prostitution and bring back the Red Ensign too !

I thought the Conservatives just want to put an end to the carbon tax
hike when people are struggling to cover expenses on gas heating in
the warmest winter in history. Poilievre may remove Trudeau's carbon
tax altogether once in power. But I don't see why the PC government
would declare an end to the fight against climate change. After all
the Conservatives did show support to the 2030 emission reduction
target set by Harper.

Voting out Trudeau would not end the fight against climate change.
You can be assured PC, NDP and the Green Party of Canada will
continue the fight.

PeePee is cheating at his homework again.
The only policies he'll admit to are weak assed versions of Project 2025.

No...that's where you have been sucked in.

Carbon tax affects most everything for rich and poor. It's not just about how much gas you use.
It affects every service you need and every product you buy. It has made that all more expensive foe everyone.

A middle-class person who needs to drive for a living is impacted much more than a rich person who doesn't need to drive to earn a living.
Everyone buys goods such as groceries, clothing, etc not just rich people.

You have been brainwashed into thinking this tax gets the rich to pay for the poor. You have been duped.

Even Liberals are scrapping it.

Please explain to us the life you live because based on all of your comments I have to assume you don't work or bus it to your job. You don't heat your residence or sleep with multiple blankets. You're diet consist of grass and thistles. You probably don't bathe much either and if you do it's with cold water.

Wow, you know me so well.

In fact I've got a bike generator for my laptop, which I hand built from all wooden renewable parts, as well and do eat dandelions for desert.
