So when I saw the fuel dumps on the street I knew it was time to ask about safety, especially when the idiots with butts in their mouths were standing nearby.

Add in the protest wasn't on govt property or in anyway impeded govt business. It did however take place on residential streets and in front of businesses just trying to open again.

And Sloly royally fucked up and let them get entrenched. At that point mob rules overtook reasonableness and the big guns had to be implemented.

I agree a major issue of freezing bank accounts needed to be addressed and that power curbed. The rest however was just about clearing streets. They didn't sent in the water cannons, truncheons or mass arrests(like the G20). And at least now there are better guidelines that can be used in the future.

It started as a legit grassroots. But the so called leaders who set up the go fund me were in fact a combination of grifters and were looking at forming a new Western Right wing party. The money was going to be siphoned off for personal use and to do that, not for the Truckers.

I agree the Liberals hyperbole was stupid and pandering to their own myopic base. Thats what politicians do. And lets face it, some of the yahoos at the protest were using that language. I saw it live.

The whole thing was an unneeded cluster fuck as lockdowns were basically over. But there were idiots on both sides. And I agree Trudeau was one of them. As was Sloly. And several of the protesters. No one was in the right here imo.

I would suggest had they packed up and left a little earlier. Message delivered. Had the politicians handled it differently rather than their usual rhetoric, and fear mongering and profiling. Say as with Greta..Given them the time of day. They are shitty jobs but someone has to do them. And they were thrown under the bus saving everyone else’s asses.

I also tend to think they fell victim to just how large the ground swell grew. Probably didn’t expect it to be as popular and big as it was.

I've stated this before about them protesting. What they are protesting has nothing to do with this country. The truckers were protesting the restrictions and mandates that our government was imposing.
