Great visit to Sweden and well organized. However, I'm always disappointed to not see Inge Hammarstrom involved in these type of things. He's not in the same category as Salming, Lidstrom, and Sundin but he deserves more respect. It took guts to come over when he did. I always thought he was a bit ahead of his time. If he came over 10 years later he might have been a 40 goal scorer.

When I watched Nylander in the Marlies he was a perimeter player, he was skinny, with shots and passes from the outside, now his game has evolved, he filled out his body with more mass, to power skating and driving the net and a wicked shot. His first goal. Look who was on the ice with him. Brooks Laich taking the faceoff. Ben Smith on the other wing. Carrick and Marincin on D. Leafs have come a long way. Now he's playing with Tavares and Bert and haters are waiting for him to end his point streak so they can call him inconsistent and streaky. Matthews 6 goals in first 2 games yet no one calls him streaky. Actually there is one person who wants him traded for a bag of pucks each game he doesn't score.

Yet Nylander gets tagged with being the inconsistent one.
He was already doing this in 2021. We're soon into 2024.
He didn't just come out of nowhere.
Nylander 2022 playoffs had 3 goals 4 assists for 7 pts in 7 games.
So it's not even a one off.
