1. Good chance hostages are in the tunnel.
2. Um, gas atrack? Ya, thats never a good idea.

I figure there is a chance they trade hostages for surrender. Some may go for it.
But you also feel those who surrender should be executed.
No quarter, remember?
They aren't likely to go for it if they are going to die either way.

I'm sure they will be hanged after a fair trial. But I expect them to come out of their holes guns blazing and suicide vests set up.

But if some want to cooperate with maps and intel, that would no doubt be taken in to account.

What do you think will happen?

See.
This is the exact "Something must be done, this is something" logic.
Here you are saying that anything short of a foolproof peace plan requires war crimes.

It's an insane position to take, even for you with your long track record of "If I don't get 100% of what I think is best, I should accept nothing and support things that will make it worse" as an approach.
I asked for the names of people you think, on both sides, who could negotiate a good peace treaty. The leadership of Hamas is in Quatar. Start there.

And yes, something must be done. In this case kill Hamas. How would you have dealt with it?

Than embracing war crimes?
Yes.
Don't.

I don't object to military action or to countering Hamas.
I object to your belief that the best way to do that is war crimes.
I object to the notion that its possible to engage in an urban warfare campaign, and not commit a single war crime, under its definition. What you think the war commanders on both sides will meet at dawn, set terms, go to the agreed open field and exchange volleys?

When Hamas uses their own people as human shields, places bases under civilian infrastructure, and creates a tynnel system for the express purpose of inflicting mass casualties both on the IDF AND their own civilian population for clickbait, this is the result.

Life is cheap to them. Get your head out of the sand. You are demanding the IDF fight with one hand tied behind their back.

"The war crimes can't be stopped now and won't be prosecuted" is a very different position than "The war crimes are the best way to do this and should be encouraged and in no way criticized."
Now you are talking out of both sides of your mouth again. Here you are grudgingly accepting war crimes as a neccessary step. "Regrettably " right. You going to send "Thoughts and prayers" too? Maybe wring your hands a bit, purse your lips, shed a crocodile tear?

Perhaps, but as mentioned “god grant me”. And if Western society wants to try and achieve something. The pressure being applied now for a ceasefire or peace which will accomplish Jack. Can be applied later for other things. Like rebuilding, The moral outrage/shaming is, par for the coarse I guess.

For what it’s worth, if not for oil. I’d rather see the west just leave the mid east alone entirely. Western foreign policy/interference is part of the problem there.

I am talking about the people, not Hamas. The people are disempowered.

I don't know. Its probably how they are portrayed on TV.

In each of those cases you mentioned, the French revolution and the Russian revolution, the people were oppressed by the state they were a part of.

In this case, this is about Israel, a foreign nation, oppressing a neighbouring people. So not the same things.
Palestinians are oppressed by hamas. The power they get from Israel is through a unilateral deal despite Israel giving up Gaza. They also get 10% of their water from Israel for whats suppose to be only 6%... my numbers could be wrong but that's what ive read.

IDF killed Hamas commander in airstrike, arrested 37 wanted suspects in overnight raid

The IDF said Friday morning that its troops killed a Hamas commander in an overnight airstrike in Gaza.

IDF fighter jets struck infrastructure and killed Mustafa Dalul, the Commander of the Sabra Tel al-Hawa Battalion, among other Hamas terrorists, the IDF said.

An IDF spokeperson said Dalul took a "central part in managing the combat against IDF troops in the Gaza Strip." Dalul also held a number of positions in the Hamas battalion in recent years.

Israel has conducted a sustained bombardment of Hamas operatives in Gaza and has launched a ground invasion in an effort to eliminate the terror group.

It also seeks to rescue the at least 230 people Hamas is believed to have taken hostage.

"In addition, IDF fighter jets and artillery, directed by ground troops, killed a number of terrorists who operated against the ground troops. During searches in the area of Beit Hanoun, the troops located weapons, intelligence material, an AK-47 rifle, submachine gun, magazines, grenades, explosive devices, RPG, communication means, and maps," the spokesperson added.

Also, overnight, IDF troops arrested 37 wanted persons in an overnight raid. Of those, about 17 had associations with Hamas, an IDF spokesperson said.

The IDF also said its soldiers from the Golani Brigade’s 13th Battalion and the Armored Corps’ 53rd Battalion clashed with multiple terrorist squads inside Gaza overnight.

"The terrorists fired anti-tank missiles at the troops, activated a number of IEDs and attempted to climb onto one of the troop’s vehicles," the IDF said. "Soldiers on the ground directed aircraft and artillery strikes—neutralizing the terrorists and their threats."

Settler attacks are government policy.
The attack with the backing of the IDF and the only arrests as a result are Palestinians who resist.

Read the Israeli reports on it, or pretend its not happening and yell Hamas over and over again.
Those are reports of settler violence... just because they're clever to put "= state violence" you cling to it like a cinched koala bear.

Lying is a war crime? LOL.

Using children as human shields is definitely criminal.
Yes, if Hamas were using human shields it would be a war crime. But they are not.
And yes, lying that there were Hamas everywhere as you kill civilians doesn't make killing civilians less of a war crime.

You still are actively supporting genocide and killing children through your refusal to say killing children is wrong.
Even basketcase and rich have stated that killing children is wrong.

But you won't?
Why?

Are you too busy writing checks because Israel keeps missing 'terrorists' like this one?

I see that those tunnels are working great 😂

IDF rigs Hamas tunnels with explosives, collapses passages in Gaza

Israeli Defense Forces are reporting the destruction of an underground passage network used by Hamas militants.
The IDF posted a video to its social media on Friday claiming to show the bombing of terror tunnels in Gaza.

"IDF troops uncovered tunnel shafts, rigged them with explosives, and neutralized Hamas’s terrorist tunnels during special operations inside Gaza," the Israeli military wrote on social media platform X on Friday.

According to those who closely track the Iranian-backed terror group, as well as admissions by its own leaders, Hamas has built an approximately 300-mile subterranean system that snakes beneath civilian homes, schools and hospitals in urban areas of the Gaza Strip.

Many officials in Israel believe that the majority of the 240 hostages, held captive by Hamas since the Oct. 7 assault, are hidden somewhere inside this underground network.
Yocheved Lifshitz, one of four hostages released so far, told the media that she"walked for two or three kilometers on wet ground" after her abduction.

International pressure stopped Israel in 2008, 2011, 2014, 2018 and 2021.
Each time they said they were going to destroy Hamas.

It hasn't worked yet and it won't work this time either.

Hamas don't use human shields? What do you call building a tunnel under a hospital then? the term "human shields" doesn't have to be literal franky boy...

Same thing, rich.
The IDF raids the west bank, settlers raid the west bank.
They kill Palestinians and force them off their land.
Same thing as has been going on for 75 years, only now its more out in the open and more violent.

Where is the proof there are tunnels under hospitals?
Is it because the IDF said it? You wouldn't believe Hamas, why would you believe the IDF?

So its ok to slaughter babies using missiles while hiding in a bunker?
What suicide bombings, Hamas stopped a decade or two ago.

Israel has killed more civilians in 3 weeks than Putin killed in Ukraine in 2 years.

And we're back again....Why do Hamas fire rockets from populated areas with babies? In times of war isn't the first step is to evacuate civilians, women and children?
