I'm sure those with deep seated anti-semitism will always have sympathy for Hamas as long as they try to kill Jews.

I suspect that Hamas will temporarily succeed in delaying rapprochement between Israel and Arab states but their willingness to sacrifice Gazan civilians will at best only buy them (and Iran) a year or two.

Point I am making is there is no durable military solution. 9M vs over 500m. They could probably take Israel on with sticks and win.

Have you noticed no nations are coming to help Hamas? No sanctions, no unified call to arms? Just generic calls for peace.

Israel is going in. They are going to either eradicate Hamas, or set them so far back the power will be broken. There is a very real possibility that the Palestinians will be pushed into Egypt. Or relocated to the West Bank. Or other combinations.

After that, as I said, the Gaza Strip will be leveled, rebuilt as a region of Israel. Free.

Let's do it this way. The Saddam Hossein's Iraqi army outnumbered the coalition forces that Dubya put together. But the coalition forces had far better training and equipment.

The Iraqi army lasted a few hours as a fighting force before disintegrating.

HAMAS has half-trained, semi equipped undisciplined militia. They can't take on a real army, let alone one as good as the IDF. The casualty differential will be massive and the battle will really only last a couple of days before HAMAS collapses.
