Any take on the potential for Ryu to take over the last starter's role?Location, Velocity, and much Less Break on his Slider.
Just a terrible combination to have them all decline over one year.
Or Jays re acquiring Stroman?

@maurice93: Has your opinion on the activation of Mitch White changed in the past two weeks? Mine hasn't.You can't make a strong case, or in my view a correct case for White being released over Bass.
----------
White is younger, cost-controlled, and potentially filled a long reliever role / swingman role that they needed.
From a pure baseball perspective the right move was this.
1) Recall White on June 8(which they did)
2) DFA Bass on June 8, since you know he will not be claimed due to his salary commitment for 2023 and 2024 (which they did)
Is this not a meaningless and distracting post. Are you Shack? ( And BTW, I actually like Shack and think some of those comments are unfair)July 4:

Ryu too, though I've heard he's lost about 30 - 40lbs as part of his rehab from Tommy John surgery. While what you say makes sense there are many pitchers who carried excess weight and did very well despite it. Former Jays Roger Clemens and David Wells come to mind. Lets not forget Bartolo Colon either.
They need a good clean-up hitter to insert some power into the middle of their lineup. Short-term, I think Schneider needs to re-jig the lineup. I think a little less so since Springer has started to hit lately but still, remember when Schneider dropped Bo down the order last August. They are not hitting... especially against decent pitchers ( which is all they'd see in the playoffs).
Bass's REAL pronouns were "DFA".Since Anthony Bass is a superstar unrivaled, shouldn't he be getting Shohai Ohtani money?
It's irritating when the run producers turn into black holes, take Belt out of the No.3 spot, he strikes out way too much.
So, after this post I was thinking about what "my order" would look like. I know batting average is no longer the best indicator in the age of analytics, but I'm old school and I still think batting average tells a whole heck of a lot (and don't really understand all the new analytics - I'm a simple guy). They need a good clean-up hitter to insert some power into the middle of their lineup. Bo got the message and went on a tear in September which has continued through to this season, and returned to the top of the order. I think Belt and Vladdy Jr. need to be separated in the order as they are not the quickest base runners and Merrifield is hitting 20 points better than Springer. Also, Springer hits more power than Merrifield, so putting Whit in leadoff and Springer between Belt and Vladdy Jr. would make sense.
Finally, Springer is now alone in second for most leadoff homers and won't catch Ricky Henderson, so he's not owed anything (if he ever was as it's a team sport). Remember, every leadoff home run is only a solo homer.
Prepare to give up some serious prospects thoughThere’s a bit of talk still circulating about a Marcus Stroman deal. I thought it was just some bozos on YouTube but even Jeff Blair is talking about it. Apparently a lot of people in the city want to see Marcus Stroman come back. I think a lot of it will depend on Manoqh…. Right now I am not feeling him. This guy is a liability.
I would love to see a deal for Teoscar to come back. I would love to see him in a Jays uniform right about now
Lol I don’t think we have much left.Prepare to give up some serious prospects though
The Jays may sign Teoscar for next year. He's in the last year of his contract, which is one of the primary reasons they traded him (and his poor defensive), but next year he would make a great DH. Lord knows The Jays need a clean-up hitter. There’s a bit of talk still circulating about a Marcus Stroman deal. I thought it was just some bozos on YouTube but even Jeff Blair is talking about it. I don’t know I guess I’m alone in thinking Teoscar's defence wasn’t that bad. I mean five years ago is a different story, last year not so much.. I don’t really care about stats. I care about my eye, and how I feel and he didn’t bother me. When they traded him away, I knew this team would now be suffering with thousands of runners in scoring position. Ross Atkins over plays his hand, and he made a few goofs in the off-season. In hindsight trading for invisible Varsho was one of them. And I still say he mishandled Hernandez, and probably could’ve extended him if he did it properly. The Jays may sign Teoscar for next year. Last season I said to a friend they should bring The Stroshow back. Didn't happen and Stripling was strong. Stroman is having an awesome year, but I highly doubt he'll be coming back to The Jays. Baltimore (bad for The Jays) maybe, but not The Jays.
