I figured they would not let him pitch until all the issues were solved and he lost 20 pounds. Those were kids lighting him up

Hey Phil. That's not accurate. He pitched 2 and 2/3 of an inning not just 2. So instead of a 49.5 ERA, it was only 37.125
Lol. I hope they put him on the treadmill before they gave him a baseball.

Yes but he's has said that he would never play in NY...LOL.

And he's a right handed hitter. We need left bats to balance out Judge, Stanton, Donaldson, Torres, Le Mahieu, Trevino and Bader.

That's why Rizzo is so valuable....And of course he left todays game with a head injury...Ratz.
What's this rumour circulating about Judge possibly being out for the season?

So they sent him for PRP injections two weeks ago.....That's when I knew something was amiss.

He's got a torn ligament in his toe and is experiencing a lot of pain just walking I've read.

If he needs surgery...Yikes. Boone deflects the comments all the time. That's telling.

Donaldson, LeMahieu and Stanton are just terrible at present.....Hard to watch that line up flail hopelessly night after night.

Here's some bad news for Jays fans:

And yet, the Yanks are in the wild card mix. Will be interesting to see what deals they try to pull off to compensate for the deficiencies you've listed.

They lost to the A's tonight and looked pathetic...Donaldson has 9 hits this year in total. 7 of which are home runs. How weird is that? Yankees pitching for the most part has been good and they've won a lot of close games. Some of which they had no place in winning. Relief pitching has kept them in there so far. I think GM Brian Cashman's days are numbered in the big apple. If they don't turn this around he's probably gone in the offseason.

Donaldson's agent would point out 78% of his client's hits are home runs this year.
Hasn't Cashman's obituary been written a couple of times in the past?

The hell with the Jays, I'm intrigued by this exquisite creature named Madison Shipman that's been seen of late on their broadcasts.

Finally Vlady takes a page out of Joey Boom Bats playbook, get HBP mash the next time up.

I was looking at Alek Manoah's starts from last season, the evidence is conclusive, he came to camp out of shape, he's gone full Mark Lemongello.

Vladdy will partake in the HR Derby. Usually the Derby fucks up a power hitter's swing after the all star break. Vladdy's swing is already fucked up, so here's hoping it will bring him back to 2021 form.

Two great pick-offs by Blake Sebol and El Gran Capitan (welcome back), Kirk's was crucial with the game on the line. A white knuckle save by Romano. Vlady could hit a half dozen more dingers before the All Star Game, he may even go Hansen Bros on the cameraman again.

In 1993 Ken Griffey Jr had 12 hrs going into the All Star Game, he finished the season with 45.

The Red Sox are getting revenge for last season's 28 run hootenanny, James Paxton is the Jays daddy.

No playoffs for us.

The sportcasters were wondering why the Jays cannot win in ther
own division when they have a winning record against the other divisions.

I think I know

Like our dvision is the best division in all of baseball. Duh?

Jays do not beat elite teams, they are pretenders, not contenders,
because they think Vlad is a superstar hitter when he is not the guy
to build a team around

Stop blaming Vlad, it is management failure.

Bo blew through a stop sign when he was the tying run and was out at home.

We are still making running mistakes

Fuck'n BoBofette tries to be hero again! ignores Rivera, cost team chance in tying game and send it to extra innings or a win.

He should have at least tried a Whitt Merrifield on Gary Sanchez move ,instead of stopping halfway down the line slowing his momentum, he should have bowled over the catcher and make a challenge that he did not get a running lane, out call would have been overturned..

Fuck',n Poillevre Jr!

Ho Lee Shit

His confidence level must be below zero. They must be totally changing his mechanics and grips and everything is new for him.
Jays commentators now saying they expect Manoah back in a few weeks. So I'm confused. I expected him to be down in the minors for a couple of months, concentrating on mechanics and fitness.

They're also saying that Ryu might be sufficiently recovered to rejoin the team in late July or early August.

He starts tonight against Portland (Red Sox). They're always a tough team to beat.

Just because they expect it, it ain't no guarantee that they are right.

They are making the "miniscule" assumption that he'll get his velocity, control and physicality all back to where he used to be with no setbacks, such as giving up 11 runs in 2+ innings. If he's not fully in control and confident, the worst thing would be to bring him up and he gets shelled in his 1st 2 or3 starts. He'll hit rock bottom.

I think I heard that conversation and they were basing it simply on what a typical timeline is for a pitcher during training camp to get up to speed. IF he gets his stuff back and improving with each start the few weeks is a possibility. I'd rather they keep him down there and let him dominate for 6-8 starts. Get him in the same mindset that he was in when they first brought him up in '21, I think it was. Get him ready for a mid-August return for a final push and then the playoffs is where his biggest value would be.

They made various comments about the Florida state league, including heat and humidity - which could badly affect an overweight guy. I could see his concentration being fucked, given the demotion and strange environment. The coaching staff could also have him trying new pitches or new arm angles, etc. So I'm not worried about the bad pitching line.

Manoah might struggle against major leaguers, but I'm sure he has enough stuff to dominate in the minors.
