lol.... and the only way this team will even win anything, is when they get a tough as nails coach that understands to muscle the centre of the goddamn ice, and play the man always in the playoffs. I think Sheldon Keefe does know, but just has a hard time enforcing it. It's a do or die mentality. You can't sit there and play snooker with your sticks in YOUR OWN SLOT even 25% of the time. We need some teeth missing badasses. What happened to blocking shots from 20 years ago? I mean at least it got them out of the first round before wearing out.

Sorry for being so negative and I hope I'm wrong. Go Leafs Go!

All the home teams lost last night and both Vegas and Jersey lost by same score 5 to 1
Seattle beat Colorado 3 to 1
Night before only 2 home teams won. Boston and Carolina.
1st and 2nd in regular season standings beating the 2 lowest ranking wild card teams.
Both Dallas and Edmonton lost.
So in 8 games home team 2 and road team 6.

not always sure...
When Wes McCauley was officiating the Leafs during this regular season the Leafs were 5-0-1.
If the Leafs commit penalties and a referee calls them that's not the fault of the referee.

It's not Wes McCauley's fault the Leafs let in 7 goals.

You need to move on from this and give us your theories about the ghost of Hugo Chavez inhabiting the score clock and flipping the game scores... or maybe the Italian military space lasers affecting the movement of the puck. Those would have more credibility.

Playoffs are different than the regular season. McCauley made at least three bad calls, against the Leafs last night. Hopefully, McCauley won't be the ref in anymore games, in this Leaf/Lightning, playoff series!!

Seney is not the first Toronto "fan-boy" to write this sort of thing.

If you read the Toronto Star's Damien Cox you'll know the real reason the Leafs have been unsuccessful so far is because Kerry Fraser didn't make that high sticking call in 1993 when Doug Gilmore got touched on the face by Gretzky's stick.
That impacted the entire course of the Leafs franchise history, so that we would have won multiple Stanley Cups in the last 30 years if only that one referee had made that one call in 1993.

He wrote an entire book about it.

So it has nothing to do with Wes McCauley, it's all Kerry Fraser's fault.

Let's inject some reality... Toronto playoff games officiated by Wes McCauley since 2017:

It does just take one bad ref call, to decide a game, and a series. Last year, McCauley took away a leafs goal in game 7, with a bad obstruction call against Justin Holl. This call wound up costing the Leafs, the series.

Terrible call by McCauley in game 7 of last year's series.

Lol - now I have a feeling you're just pulling my leg; that's ridiculous and you're demonstrating your pro-Toronto bias.

That was classic interference, if Holl hadn't skated over to body check the Tampa player marking Tavares then Tavares would never have been able to skate unmolested to scoring position in front of the net.

It was textbook interference and the referee appropriately whistled it down even before Tavares shot the puck.

Please watch that video again - it's a textbook example of where it's important to make an interference call because it led directly to a scoring chance.

IMHO, it was a very rarely made "pick and roll " call. Even Craig Simpson, the SN announcer, said it was a very "borderline" call. In any event, hopefully that's the last we've seen of Wes McCauley, in this series!! Holl was just standing there, and the Tampa player, ran into him.

We say that every year lol. I'll have faith..... but if they lose, I quit being a fan for life. It was a real struggle to stay engaged ever since that Montreal series 2 years ago.

That loss to Montreal after being up 3-1 was the lowest point I've ever felt being a Leafs fan. I boycotted the first 10 games the next season out of disgust. But I can't just turn off my Leaf fanship at the flip of a switch.

Knies in. That upgrades the 3rd line with O'Rielly.
Leafs are one injury/suspension away from dressing Simmonds or the other RW Timmins
