I don't see too many jumping up and down against the Flyers or the NHL and I don't see a link to Sid's statements but he does have a right to his opinion if that is his opinion. It doesn't mean all on the left agree with his opinion.IMHO, Ivan doesn't deserve any sanctions. Ivan is paid to play Hockey, and that's it. Ivan is not paid to be a politician. For Sid to suggest that the Flyers should be fined $1 million makes no sense.
Even the NHL agrees, that no sanctions are needed.

For the simple reason that I wouldnt want my kids exposed to this type of stuff at an early age. If you wanna devote a few hours of classtime to teach that not everyone is heterosexual then I'm ok with that, but wait until they reach age of consent (which is 16 in Canada)

You don't think they'll see gay relationships or have questions about them before the age of 16? And for those who are confused by their orientation, do you want to deny them knowledge of what is going on and why it's alright? I mean, that's the system we had for a LOOOONG time, one where "sexual deviations" like homosexuality were ignored or called evil. We've seen thousands of closeted people suffer in silence because they were not comfortable being themselves. Think of all those kids who were bullied or killed themselves. There are gay people in the world and ignoring it doesn't help anyone. And, just to be clear, they don't teach kids the ins and outs of gay sex. They are not taught that gays are superior to straight folks, or anything stupid like that. It's all about the fact that there are different people out there, and not to treat them badly because of who they love.
