LOL

So....you think if they learn about the LGBTQ community...they'll all of a sudden become gay or trans??? Man, that is a really myopic way of viewing the world. Here's a shocker, you can read about things and not become them. I mean, I've read about dictators and psychopaths, but I've never tortured or murdered anyone. I mean, considering how up until the past decade only heterosexual relationships were discussed in school, it's amazing there are still homosexuals in North America...I mean, the hetero agenda is the dominant one, right???
But silentkisser, if you keep talk like that out of kindergarten kids will never ever learn about gay people so blissfully live their lives as happy CIS people forever!
(or closeted republicans).

Where I have said this?? You're putting words in my mouth now.
People are born heterosexual or gay. You can't turn someone gay.

I stand by my earlier point.
6 and 7-year olds should not have LGBQT politics shoved down their throats.
Its fucking creepy as hell, and the fact you dont have a problem with it speaks volumes

No, I prefer kids grow up and let them be free to make their own choices instead of having some rainbow agenda pushed on them
It sounds like you're concerned that by learning about LGTBQ stuff (i.e. the rainbow agenda) that they'll be forced into some sexual orientation. And, I agree that you can't make someone gay or straight. So, the question here is, why does learning about LGBTQ stuff bother you so much? I mean, they don't learn anything that isn't age appropriate (like, they aren't taught what a bottom is or how to scissor), but they might learn that even people who have different love interests are still worthy of our respect. Is that what bothers you about all of this?

I mean, if you strip out the pearl-clutching "what about the children" right-wing media hysteria, what is the issue here? It's just like how conservatives are suddenly freaking out that kids might learn about the barbaric nature of slavery in the US, or that the civil war wasn't really about State's rights. Shouldn't schools teach the truth? And, being taught not to hate someone based on their skin colour, religion, disability or sexual orientation is a good thing. But, please, explain to me why it isn't?

For the simple reason that I wouldnt want my kids exposed to this type of stuff at an early age. If you wanna devote a few hours of classtime to teach that not everyone is heterosexual then I'm ok with that, but wait until they reach age of consent (which is 16 in Canada)

You don't think they'll see gay relationships or have questions about them before the age of 16? And for those who are confused by their orientation, do you want to deny them knowledge of what is going on and why it's alright? I mean, that's the system we had for a LOOOONG time, one where "sexual deviations" like homosexuality were ignored or called evil. We've seen thousands of closeted people suffer in silence because they were not comfortable being themselves. Think of all those kids who were bullied or killed themselves. There are gay people in the world and ignoring it doesn't help anyone. And, just to be clear, they don't teach kids the ins and outs of gay sex. They are not taught that gays are superior to straight folks, or anything stupid like that. It's all about the fact that there are different people out there, and not to treat them badly because of who they love.

What if a school child was of the Christian or Muslim faith, and LGBQT lifestyle goes against their values, do you still think LGBQT should be pushed on them, or do they have the right to not want to be subjected to it??

How waiving a rainbow flag pushing anything on anyone. How could teaching children tolerance be a bad thing.

I don't think learning about something is pushing it on them. I mean, there are gay christians and muslims. And not all christians and muslim are anti-gay. But by that logic, teaching these people that women have equal rights could also be an affront to their faith...Or that other religions exist and that is acceptable....Where would you draw the line?

You're basically telling them that if you dont go along with the LGBQT agenda that you're a bad person

What is this 'agenda' you claim exists?
What do you think they teach them?

Certainly not this:

Why not. Is learning about other religions or cultures a bad thing? You seem to be confusion teaching and proselytizing
You need to learn about the Charter of Canada. Pay special attention to the bolded part:

Freedom of religion includes both the right to manifest beliefs and practices and the right to be free from state coercion or constraint in matters of religion

LoL. As it happens I know quite a lot about the charter. You need to get a dictionary and look up the definition of coercion.
