You are free to not watching and listening to CBC.
In a democracy like Canada you do not have the right to decide which government services your small tax contribution supports.
The only way to avoid contributing your small amount to the CBC is to vote in a government who promises to privatise it.
The CBC receives $1.2B a year, while the Department of Defence receives $27B.
that is a ridiculous argument
In a democracy, the state broadcaster does not act as cheerleader and propaganda conduit for a specific political party.
In addition to becoming a politically partisan organization abandoning any resemblance of journalistic integrity, the CBC has outlived its mandate of communicating news to the far reaches of our country and is a terrible waste of taxpayers money
No crown corporation should ever have allowed itself to become politically partisan, particularly a media corporation
They have lost viewership because they are no longer trusted by Canadians to provide unbiased news coverage
Re comparison vs Dept of defense.
Nice try but soo very wrong
We need to maintain a military
a) to ensure we fulfil our commitment to our NATO allies
b) so we do not wind up speaking Russian
The CBC on the other hand will save us from what?
Hearing the truth ?
