'' On top of this, the former journalist said that the CBC had become obsessed with race. "To work at the CBC now is to accept the idea that race is the most significant thing about a person, and that some races are more relevant to the public conversation than others."

Upset because many Canadians feel racism is something worth covering?
No upset because race is not the the most important aspect of an individual.

Playing identity politics only leads to division.

You complained about issues Canadians feel important while at the same time being upset that many Canadians feel racism is important?

"many Canadians feel racism is important?"

How many is "many"?
50%, 75%, 100%?

How important is "important"?
More important than work, health, money, house, car, getting laid, the Leafs?

Oracle's, 'Red Hot Links':

I 'paste' that shit on everything!!!
If the article was really focused and specific, it might be worth thinking about. But it's a general rant with no specifics.

They base that on "surveys ". They send a reporter to the street and ask a question like- is racism bad? And, voile, they cover it. Meanwhile, hundreds of thousands of Canadians are living off their mortgage secured credit lines. It's why I don't watch the CBC and dumped the G&M subscription.

No specifics?

The lady quit her (no doubt high paying) position
Is that not specific enough for you?

"To work at the CBC now is to accept the idea that race is the most significant thing about a person, and that some races are more relevant to the public conversation than others."
And Peter Mansbridge chipped in
"And we’ve been caught out on where we are in terms of the broadcast business by the kind of people that have been appointed to president and then the president appointing executive vice president, the board of the CBC, most of whom – if not all of whom – for years have had zero broadcast experience.
I think the country absolutely needs the CBC. Do they need the CBC they’ve got right now? Probably not. They need it to be better."
If that is not specific enough for you i will translate
The taxpayer Funded Canadian Broadcaster is no longer in the business of informing Canadian citizens , they are in the propaganda business employed by the Liberal party . while still funded by all taxpayers

Good for her.

The CBC has indeed become infested with leftists and a shadow of its former self. I mean, it was always left of centre, but now it's extreme. Ever since Mansbridge left, the place has gone to hell. The only ones left with any sanity are Ian Hanomansing and Ian McDonald and I suspect that they are both pretty much fed up as well. All of the "not really that old old guard", the folks I like to call "Chretien liberals", (i.e. centrists) have all left or been forced out. Replaced with young left wing extremists who have nothing but disdain for Canada and are all about using the CBC to spread their left wing political agenda. I used to defend the CBC all the time, including my posts here on TERB when others would call for them to shut down, or have their budgets slashed. But I have to admit that in the last 4 or 5 years I now see that indeed they need to be dismantled. They are far too biased and it's sickening already. Time to defund the CBC. (But not the CBC radio, I do think they are pretty good still.)

Edited for grammar typo, to should have been too.

A much better article here at the National Post

The National Post?? LOL!! A far right wing biased source that pulled the plug on Andrew Coyne's Opinion Column. They were pissed off with Andrew Coyne during the 2015 Elections as they have a bias towards the Conservatives and Coyne's opinion was to be critical of Harper!! In contrast the CBC has no problems with the At Issue Panel where Andrew Coyne airs his views freely without any attempts to control what he says. The others on that panel may or may not agree with him. Unlike that biased National Post. So I can see why the alt right wingers hate the free press!!

James, she's pushing sales for her new book and - I presume - a career pivot into independent opinion-izing by being as caustic and "controversial" as possible. It's a sales pitch to launch her new ventures and establish a "provocative" new public personality.
