Long story short. Young Tyler was not a fit for the Boston system.
"The second reasoning was whether Tyler Seguin’s work ethic and his style of play fit with the Boston Bruins. He is definitely a skill and finesse player first and was purely that as a young player in Boston. The front office may have wondered if his playstyle would fit on what was a grit grinder roster at the time."
Boston Bruins: Revisiting the Tyler Seguin trade with the Dallas Stars (causewaycrowd.com)
The point is they got shit on a stick for him.

How about they suspend the ref Brad Meyer, he ref the game between Boston and Toronto that led to Kadri's suspension and the game between Toronto and Winnipeg. Looks like he doesn't manage Leaf games very well.

The Bruins won when they traded for Phil Esposito from Chicago and won again when they traded him to the Rangers...they also acquired Rick Middleton for aging Ken Hodge in another deal...probably lost the deal that sent Al Secord to Chicago for Mike McConnell, Secord had 50 goal seasons with Chicago.
And Secord didn't do shit for the Leafs, We still got Eddie O in that deal though.

How about the Thornton and Seguin trades.
I said very seldom they do. The mistake the Bruins made wasn't trading Thorton is was hiring Mike Keenan as coach cause you know how he meddles in the GM's business and has a hand in these trades, I don't think Keenan was fan of Thorton's. They did whiff on the Seguin trade but I think that had something to do with money and Seguin's character

If you're talking one for one then the Leafs did. But I had a hard time with them throwing Sylvain Lefebvre in that deal and taking Garth Butcher back. LeFebrve was a stud on D for the Leafs and their defense started going downhill after that. Warriner was a high draft pick had a ton of potential but never lived up to it. You're forgetting the reason why Fletcher wanted to swap first round picks. He wanted the 10th spot do he could draft Brett Lindros but the Islanders selected him one spot ahead of the Leafs so they ended up trading down with the Capitals and drafting G Eric Fichaud instead. I think all in all the Leafs dramatically won this trade although The Avalanche traded clark in a three way with the Devils and Islanders and received Claude Lemieux who was a big part of them winning the Stanley Cup

Some of these trades certainly have a "long tail". I was still living in Montreal when the Habs traded away Patrick Roy over some nonsensical reason(s). Montreal fans will never forget or forgive the Habs.

This is going off point, its not a question of who was behind the trade or whether they should have made it or not, it's a question of whether they got a proper return for him, which turned out to be a huge whiff.

D'uh. He demanded a trade.

The Montreal system determined that he should be embarrassed and allowed to let in 8 or 9 goals before they pulled him. As he walked off the ice he told the Montreal prez that that was the last time he would play for Montreal. I thought the Montreal system dictated the importance of top notch goaltending, not humiliating them.

They treated him like shit and if the Montreal fans didn't like it, then they were idiots as well as management. It sounds like you were on the side of the critical fans as well. I guess you all drank the same Kool-Aid.
