I happen to agree, this team gets out-hit game after game. Come playoffs, the Leafs will not go deep. Let’s not get started with Marner, unless his game changes his contract becomes a lot of dead weight. Sure he is an amazing talent, great at potting in that empty netter (most times)
Yup, incredibly the Leafs are on a pretty good run right now. One that very few predicted early on based on their performance. Even fewer are predicting it will last. Even so, it's nice to see. Dubas must be enjoying the calm before the eventual shit storm. A reprieve just before Christmas is always a welcome surprise.
So you don't think the Leafs will win 9 out of 10 for the season...thanks for the insight.

It will have no effect on the chemistry. Most of them are bit players. Mikheyev was already a part of the team's chemistry and Clifford will only be a part time grinder. They may platoon Clifford with Ritchie who has underperformed with only 2 assists in 17 games.

Yeah, guys love being healthy scratches. Great for the morale. No one's ever bothered by that because they're all just good ole' boys who want what's best for the team. No matter how far from home they are, or how heavily incentive-driven their contracts might be. You've clearly never played anything more than pond hockey. But we all already knew that anyway.
Exactly. And sometimes that might be enough to motivate them to play better the next time they have a chance. Internal competition.
It's not a high priority to give a shit about the feelings of the 14th forward...if the player is a disruption in that role he'll be in the AHL the next day...you are wrong almost every time you express an opinion.
Anyway, where did you play professional hockey?
All those bottom roster positions have small $ contracts and aren't hard to move to another team or the AHL.
Ilya Mikheyev asked to be traded in the off season so maybe he'll go...
I've done some coaching at university and junior level.
Chemistry and morale is not going to be ruined because the 14th forward isn't happy...the way it works at the professional level is players get paid a lot of money to play and not coach.
You think Matthews, Taveras, etc are going to storm the coaches office because the guy they like who plays 3-4 minutes a game is now suddenly a scratch...you think there play is going to suffer because they are so worried about it...you think there going to sulk about it like a peewee player who's best friend isn't in the lineup...you think the $10 mil a year and first line and PP minutes doesn't keep them satisfied...you think they should have a say on who makes the team...you think they are going to disappointed that Kyle Clifford is back and Russian who asked to be traded isn't...

That's not how chemistry and player morale works on a professional sports franchise, in particular pro hockey, and yes, I'm speaking from experience.

Go thru the roster the last couple of years...Trevor Moore, Nic Petan, Adam Brooks, Marincin, etc etc etc, there are many players that have lost their spot when other players are brought in, thats the way it works...
If you were ever on a team where chemistry was destroyed because the 14th forward was replaced, that team must have had some shitty leadership.
