Yup. And before that they had lost 4 in a row. 10 game block ends on Monday with LAK.They've won 4 in a row now...

Or 3-0.Now they have two tough ones upcoming against TB and BOS.
Now we have another 3 game run where I suspect they'll go 1W/2L.
It's amazing what good goaltending can do for an under achieving club in need of a turn around.Or 3-0.
I think that it takes a team effort to beat teams like Tampa and Boston. It's amazing what good goaltending can do for an under achieving club in need of a turn around.
Campbell has been a great addition to the Leafs since day one.
Well yes for sure but when your tender is stoning the other teams and I just looked him up. He's got .936 save percentage and a 1.88 goal against average. Then the forwards don't press as much to find the back of net. Which usually results in said same nets getting filled. Not to mention the opposing teams getting demoralized.I think that it takes a team effort to beat teams like Tampa and Boston.
Everybody was talking about the lack of production of Marner, Matthews and Tavares. Those 3 and Nylander have accounted for the last 13 goals in a row for the Leafs.
Oracle, do you think that maybe that along with Campbell might have been a factor?
Well, I guess that's kind of the definition of a team. All the parts work together and influence how the other parts work. When the elite forwards aren't producing game after game, a goalie can only do so much.Well yes for sure but when your tender is stoning the other teams and I just looked him up. My feeling since the beginning of the season is that the Leafs are going deep into the post season this year. And as a Sens fan I consider myself unbiased here. I have said before if the Leafs won the cup I would very happy for their fans and organization. I love my team but don't hate on the opposition. That just clouds your judgement.
I was going to ask when will be the parade for the cup, but then the critic in me reminds the fan in me that this is ONLY the regular season; and just like last season this team had a couple of long winning streaks too ( 5 & 6 as I remember).Well, I guess that's kind of the definition of a team. Your 20/20 hindsight vision is outstanding, Mr. Monday Morning QB. Maybe next you'll predict who will win the First World War. Because you're just.that.good.Or 3-0.
Unfortunately, I don't think if the Leafs want to seriously contend for a Cup they can afford to keep him.So Mitch Marner had a slow start to this season, and he was vilified by many on this board. So how bad are his stats? He must not even be in the top 100 scorers, right? Well, actually, there are only 16 guys ahead of him. Only 7 wingers. Only 3 right wingers. He is also tied for 3rd in game-winning goals. An effective penalty-killer too. Sounds like he should be one of the highest paid players in the NHL.
All I did was simply state their record. Just a simple fact. No commentary. No nothing.Your 20/20 hindsight vision is outstanding, Mr. Monday Morning QB. Maybe next you'll predict who will win the First World War. Because you're just.that.good.
Leafs finish up the 10 game block at 5W-5L even. 7-5-1 on the season so far. Of the 7 wins, 5 came from beating terrible/injury riddled teams - MTL, OTT, CHI, DET, VGK. The other two wins I'd put in the well-earned category - TBL and BOS....10 game block ends on Monday with LAK.
Ummm, that's 4 players. The top 3 forwards (Tavares, Matthews, Marner, Nylander) are a combined minus 3.
So is that when they fire Kyle Dubas?Leafs finish up the 10 game block at 5W-5L even. 7-5-1 on the season so far. Of the 7 wins, 5 came from beating terrible/injury riddled teams - MTL, OTT, CHI, DET, VGK. The other two wins I'd put in the well-earned category - TBL and BOS.
In the next 10 game block, Leafs will face much stronger teams in PHI, CGY, NYR, SJS, and ANA, and will see the rematch with LAK. At a minimum, games that should be wins for TOR based on talent are with BUF, NSH, NYI and PIT.
Unfortunately, your opinion is not influential to what happens...just a silly opinion that having Marner on the team eliminates the Leafs from being a serious contender.Unfortunately, I don't think if the Leafs want to seriously contend for a Cup they can afford to keep him.
Guess it all depends on how his team does. At that point, they'll be close to the quarter pole, and the team's performance trajectory will either inspire management's confidence in his leadership or it won't.So is that when they fire Kyle Dubas?
No, I'm not a member of MLSE executive management. No, I have no direct influence on decisions made regarding the Toronto Maple Leafs hockey team. I'm just a sports enthusiast who usually enjoys casual banter about the team, it's prospects, it's performance and decisions its management make. Not sure why that makes you so angry, but whatever, if you want to show us all how cool, knowledgeable and superior you are with your perpetual snideness and snark, go for it. Clearly you don't understand the purpose and typical nature of discussion forums, but thanks for coming out.Unfortunately, your opinion is not influential to what happens...just a silly opinion that having Marner on the team eliminates the Leafs from being a serious contender.
Reality check. He is actually vilified on social media in general. I am a member of another chat room and you should see what they say about Marner there. So Mitch Marner had a slow start to this season, and he was vilified by many on this board.
