Vlady's gotta go, he hasn't done any ball bustin since opening day...good thing Aaron Judge is laid back, otherwise he'd be dangerous. My appreciation for baseball began when my parents bought their first colour tv, just in time to watch the 1971 WS. Vlady has become more disciplined at the plate and he's taken his conditioning seriously. Could he become as good as Roberto Clemente?

I have to admit I was quite impressed by Robbie Ray's performance yesterday. He seemed more in control and was locating his pitches much better than usual. Other than the one guy who smacked two HR's off of him, he was pretty much unhittable. Hopefully he improves on this start, it would be a huge bonus.

Yeah, Ray was very good. He's packed on 15 lbs of muscle which helped his endurance, able to keep velo on fastball in the later innings. Shame he had to pitch against Cole and that ump wouldn't give him that strike call on the inside corner, I thought those were all strikes.

Ryu goes tonight , hopefully he'll get his first win after two quality no decisions starts.

Matz is the real deal, Ryu is the ace, and when Pearson comes back and gets into form and hopefully Ray is no flash in pan, team will have 4 good starters.

That ''one guy'' is Gerrit Coles' personal catcher Kyle Higashioka .

He only has a lifetime batting average of .199 in 200 Ab's but started off his career at 0 for 30 or something like that. so has been very effective in a limited role.

With 12 hr's and 31 career RBI's he actually has some pop. At 30 yrs of age he is a testament to not giving up on your dreams.

What I love about Brian Cashman's style is that he will give anyone a chance and isn't afraid of reclamation projects. Aaron hicks, luke Voit and Mike Tauchman come to mind.

So now I'm settling in to watch the game just in time to see the Yankees hit into a smelly double play, they should listen to Redd Foxx. Ryu doesn't have a win yet, time to go Steve Austin on them and get him one. Like The Rattlesnake says.

You weren't watching opening day? Aaron Judge nearly got caught in a pick-off at first and ended up in the prone position - so Vlady tried to push him off base with his glove to his ass then gave him the Curly Howard treatment. At least Judge thought it was funny.

Sometimes I think the local sports writers are a bunch of Chicken Littles. One of them was fretting about Bichette being cold at the plate. They have to justify their jobs, I guess.

These two dudes aren't worried about Bo.

During today’s game, there was an ad for video game MLB The Show, depicting an animated Bo Bichette hitting a walk-off home run, tossing his batting helmet like a basketball as he approaches his celebrating teammates at home plate. Then he did for real, right down to the helmet toss.

Yankees starting pitching has been troublesome to watch from a Yankee fan's point of view. That is for sure.

Bo Bichette Has some awesome power. He is just one of those special hitters. I remember when he was in the minors they were worried about the mechanics of his swing and how it would translate in the majors, lol. Still think he's a second baseman in the end though.

The jays were the best team in this series and deserve high marks for their play. If they can entice a dominant starting pitcher to join them watch out.

I don't like the stat "OPS", (onbase percentage plus slugging percentage), as it effectively counts batting average in each component. On base plus Isolated Power, (Slugging percentage minus batting average), is a better stat, as it describes bases acquired per plate appearance. OPS is useful only in ranking players against each others' performance. The number itself is meaningless. Someone who hits a home run in their only at bat has an OPS of 5.000.
