Years I was taking a very critically ill family member with cancer to an appointment at a hospital in downtown Toronto, I got to a major intersection somewhere near University Ave, unbelievably my rad hose let go releasing a huge plume of steam and I had to pull over. I was so stressed I was going to get my family member to this appointment late and their condition was so serious I could hardly breathe, I just wanted to cry.

Just then an Asian gentleman ran up to my car with his cell phone out filming me and the steam and laughing hysterically. That moment is the closest I have ever come to killing another human being.

I just don't know how cops can take it day in and day out, I don't know how anyone could, they are demonized by the public, the media, the SIU, there is no reprieve and no differentiation between good and bad cops anymore, they are simply all bad resultant of social media saturation.

The invisible victims of all this cop-hating media saturation are not this kid or George Floyd, we all know who they are, it's the NAMELESS FACELESS GOOD COPS who are moms dads husbands wives being thrown out with the dishwater.

WHAT IS THE SOLUTION?

LJ
How do they take it...they earn a 6-figure salary!

If this cop can't take name-calling he is unfit for the job.

A Barrie police officer assaulted a 20 year old boy for skateboarding across the street on a red-light then smashes his head against the concrete, pistol whips him and says “im gonna light you up”

It was pure police intimidation. Nothing else
That’s the problem right their you call a 20 year old a boy his is a legal adult and should act like one ffs

So a cop killed in the line of duty? he makes how much? and your logic is what?

Just wow!

LJ
Did a cop get killed in this incident? What are you talking about?

You asked how they put up with the abuse, not about getting killed!

I sincerely hope that the people on Terb is not representative of the canadian population, because the majority of Terbists applaud any brutality and intimidation by law enforcement.

Ironic, actually, as anyone that procures sex for money is breaking the law.
A lot of sadistic people are on terb. They enjoy excessive display of power by Law Enforcement because it's what they dream of doing.

Always remember, the #1 target for Serial Killers are sex workers. So don't be surprised about what you read here.

You're about as far out of bounds as you can get with these inflammatory and hyperbolic comments.

Do we know whether or not the guy threatened the cop.

As I said before, nobody can draw any type of definite conclusion either way without a video of the whole incident.

I guess he mouthed off to him...I still think this cop could have handled it differently.

The officer could be on camera saying he was wrong and you'd still exonerated him.

We get it
Apparently you dont get it. I have not taken the side of the police on this

You made the association between monetary income and what a cop should be able to tolerate.

I illustrated the shortcoming of your comment by giving an example of where that logic runs out, proving that money has no place in this debate.

Tolerating abuse has nothing to do with money. Based on your reply I don't think you have the compassion to consider that as a possibility.

The floor is yours I'm out.

Cop was on the perp because he was waiting for back up officer to arrive.

Have you ever tried to arrest someone that did not wanted to be placed under arrest?

Well I have, it's not an easy thing to do, you end up sitting on them until backup arrives.
I don't think that is the issue. The issue is the kid is clearly screaming out that he can't put his arm behind his back because the cop is on him. THe cop gets more agitated and uses the taser as a hammer on the kids head.

THAT is the issue. The cop CLEARLY has lost his composure. Should be fired. You can't have that kind of responsibility and that lack of control. THe kid got a ticket for skateboarding.... he wasn't a drug dealer.

If you show some resistance...you will get extra force on the arrest....People seem to forget or too dumb nowadays to remember when you're reprimanded by the cops, resisting is the last thing you do...most of the videos taken are when the events are past the initial encounter...People tend to reach for their phones once the situation escalates...cop gave him a few extra taps....i don't see any problem...he didn't sit on his neck either...
You are right, you have missed the earlier incident, where the kid got a ticket for skateboarding. Took it, then continued skateboarding. The cop lost his shit and went after him. THAT is an issue. THat means the COP instigated the situation, NOT the kid.

This cop deserves to be fired. Disgraceful display of policing.

Trust me, I get it.

You don't like the truth of the situation, so you're hoping for new information that will allow you to swing towards the officers defence.

If you want to support the police, just do it. You don't have to lie to us. I get it!

I copied your original so you can follow along...you said "I just don't know how cops can take it day in and day out' and my reply was "How do they take it...they earn a 6-figure salary!"

You than replied with "So a cop killed in the line of duty? he makes how much? and your logic is what?"...no cop got killed here!! There is a big, huge, enormous difference in name calling and killing!!!! Can you follow that logic? Were we talking about cop-killing? Or were we talking about this incident in Barrie?

Just as an aside, in real life, I've never met a decent, common sense-filled, respectable, person who had disdain for the police in general. The A.C.A.B./cop-haters who I've encountered were squirrelly and 'off'.

Trust me, you still dont get it.

I am always on the side of justice, when all the facts come out and the cop is guilty he should be convicted.
Reverse is also true, when all the facts come out and the kid is guilty he too should be convicted
