Players mentioned as outperforming their contracts include David Pastrnak, Brad Marchand, Nathan MacKinnon, Leon Draisaitl, Shea Theodore, Nikita Kucherov, Jake Guentzel, Victor Hedman, Auston Matthews, McJesus, with honourable mentions to Teuvo Teravainen, Travis Konecny, Charlie McAvoy, Ryan Ellis, Steven Stamkos.

Players listed on the worst contract list include Drew Doughty, Marc~Edouard Vlasic, Jeff Skinner, Ryan Johansen, Oliver Ekman~Larsson, Nikita Zaitsev, Jacob Trouba, Justin Faulk, Mike Matheson, Josh Morrissey, with dishonourable mentions going to Erik Karlsson, Brady Skjei, Kevin Hayes, Logan Couture, Tyler Myers.
Matthews - Really? 11.5M is not enough?
Ekman-Larsonn - I don't understand the hype, I can't help thinking how overrated he is.
I remember a game where Nylander caught him flat footed, there was like a 5 foot gap, and he blew right by him and scored.

You don't understand mellow...it's been written in gcostanza's bible - The Athletic. It MUST be the gospel truth! After all, how could Steven Stamkos NOT be outperforming his contract? I'm sure the oft injured SS spending an entire season off the ice is a key metric in their algorithm. Same with Ryan Ellis. I'm sure he's worth $50M to someone...just not me.:LOL:

Not Maple Leafs related, but the Tampa Bay Lightning are now $1,904,166 over the cap limit with only 19 players signed.

But Dubas can't manage the Leafs' cap.

Shack I would take the Lightning situation and the Stanley Cup over the Leafs situation.
They are both tight up against the cap, but the Bolts' Cup does give it justification. There's a lot of talent on both teams that needs to get paid.

I'm so glad someone with real hockey knowledge started the 2020/2021 Leafs thread.
Are there special rules as to what we are allowed to say or does free speech apply?

Ok. 56 games. How many points for the Leafs?

I'll go with 71. That's about .634

Dart will be happy to hear Matthews will be coming in a smaller player than last year.

1st Leaf goal Nylander. How? With skill. Any mucking along the boards required? No
2nd Leaf goal Nylander. How? With more skill. Any mucking along the boards required? No
3rd Leaf goal by Tavares. How? Skill pass by Marner. Any mucking along the boards required? No
4th Leaf goal by Vesey. How? Skill pass by none other than Nylander. Any mucking along the boards required? No
OT winner by Rielly. How? Skill pass from Tavares who sold the shot then saucer. Any mucking along the boards required? No

I love the addition of Simmons. Brings some toughness to the team. Already a fight tonight. To bad his opponent fell so fast so it was a quick fight.

good game for the leafs, both teams have positives But when all is considered and properly analyzed, the obvious takeaway after this game is actually a question. Who will face Montreal in the semi-finals?

Easy, it’s one game...that mucking you’re talking about gets more important in the playoffs.
