Does anyone remember "Suede City"?

When I looked up 1970's pictures of Yonge street, there is a Suede City shop in one of the pictures, I don't recall this retailer.

Annette’s Donuts factory outlet on Lawrence just west of Jane.

I think they converted this facility to bake bread now, but they had amazing donuts that you couldn’t find in stores for $1 a dozen!

It closed maybe about 5-6 years ago, so it’s not really that long ago, but still a nice memory.

There was a place right there (maybe still there) for a long time called Canadian Style Donuts and I'm wondering, what the hell, I live in Canada so why can't I get actual Canadian donuts and have to settle for Canadian style donuts. I should be able to get the real thing.

Back in the 1950,s in Parkdale on Queen St. A place called The Donut House made fresh donuts and sold them to local shops for sale to the public. My father worked there delivering to these shops. Unfortunately, the owner of Donut House was a good looking women and my dad began messing around with her. Mom divorced him and I hated donuts for a long time. LOL.

Mr Grumps in the Atrium on Bay

JJ Mugs , Eaton Centre
I enjoyed Mr Grumps in the Atrium way back and they also had another location where Mandarin at Yonge and Eglington is now, the buffet area was the dance floor. I remember you would pay like 5 or 10 dollars to get in but you would get a free drink or food after you were in, It was a restaurant in the day and a nightclub at night on weekends.

The second best part was the smell as you drove up to the factory.

Yup, no mistaking the smell of driving up the Hershey Highway...

The Red Barn

Yes, I remember the Red Barn at Jane & HWY 400. All the great chicks hung out there because that's where you found the best selection of muscle cars on any given night. If those 60s muscle cars were still around, they'd be worth a small fortune!
