So in your link you basically outline 3 different societal norms:

1. Italy having an older population.
2. more smokers.
3. and a larger number of close-knit multigenerational households

As far as an older population is concerned, Italy does have that.
But only by about 3%. Thats not very much: https://www.statista.com/statistics/1105835/share-of-elderly-population-in-europe-by-country/

Italy also does have more smokers, but studies have shown that smokers were less likely to be hospitalized for coronavirus symptoms, and less likely to have severe symptoms. In China, eight per cent of patients hospitalized for coronavirus were smokers versus 26 per cent of general population. In Italy — eight per cent of those hospitalized were smokers and 19 per cent were not: https://www.healthing.ca/diseases-a...uld-stave-off-covid-19-should-i-start-smoking

And your last argument that Italy has more multigenerational households is also a fail, because thats only a small percentage of the population and in no way can explain they have a higher death rate than Sweden. And if you look at the chart Belgium, Spain and UK also have higher death rates than Sweden, and they do not have a larger percentage of multigenerational households: https://www.statista.com/statistics/1111779/coronavirus-death-rate-europe-by-country/

Belgium Holland and France also have a younger population than Sweden: https://www.statista.com/statistics/1105835/share-of-elderly-population-in-europe-by-country/

So all in all a massive fail on your part
The only thing that is a failure is your comprehension skills
Comprehension:
noun
The action or capability of understanding something

Those are not the only differences, now go re read and understand what they are and come back.
Why am I not surprised that you can't figure out the number of elderly people in Italy Vs Sweden is significantly higher. One has got to be completely clueless if one views it as only a 3% difference and one can not see the significant difference in population which is a significant contributing factor.
Like I said you must have lived an extremely uninformed life in Europe if these important and known facts were and still are unbeknownst to you.

Here it is for you.
Population over 65 years old
-----Sweden--------------------------------Italy
-----2,000,000+---------------------------13,500,000+

Italy has more elderly people than Sweden has population
Now go and try to do the math to understand the significant difference in age between the 2 countries.

Yes I do. Look at the overall daily new infection rate. It shows a downward trend from its peak on June 24th.
Almost every other EU country shows an upward slope

The fact that you look at the above numbers and still view it as a downward trend is absolutely ingenious on your part and mind boggling to others.
Here is a hint, Your drawn line across the graph needs be a lot shorter.
Again let me repeat this for you the number of cases in Sweden has risen sharply from September 1st. Which means an upward trend

Sweden 7 day average:
September 1st----------162
October 20th-------------818

A very low number of daily deaths in Sweden tells me almost all new infections are happening in younger people.
This is a good thing because younger people rarely get very sick and almost never die.
The more younger people get infected every day the faster Sweden will reach herd immunity.

And what I found funny was you thinking a country could reach herd immunity overnight. For example going from 500 new infections to zero the next day. You didnt seem to understand that its a gradual process.

Now that I've explained it to you I still dont think you'll understand though, but maybe you can surprise me :D
The lower number of deaths or the new infections being seen in younger people is not limited to only Sweden, it's being seen worldwide.
What's funny is you originally thought herd immunity had to do with the reduced number of deaths, then thought it's the comparison between the number of cases seen in one country Vs another.
You simply do not understand that herd immunity is based on the rate of transmission that is happening in the community in this case a country. And the rate of transmission in Sweden is still high and not showing any signs of herd immunity.

You still haven't been able to logically explain that meanwhile the rate of transmission in both Sweden and Denmark is very similar you view Denmark to be in a 2nd wave yet you view Sweden's number of cases on a downward trend?
Please also do explain how you originally thought the reduced number of deaths was proof of herd immunity?

Bottom line: Sweden (no lockdown) is the loser. Denmark (lockdown) is the winner

I already explained that to you, when you have almost no deaths that means virtually all new infections are young people. The more young people you infect, the faster you build up herd immunity because they dont tend to get sick (or get sick a lot less), therefore they are out in bars, schools, restaurants......etc on a daily basis infecting even more young people.

But you need a certain level of intellect to understand this, and its clear you dont have that

The fact that you consistently fail to read and understand yet you reply back with more nonsense. Also the fact that instead of comparing Sweden to it's Nordic bordering neighbours Denmark, Finland, Norway who they have more similarities with you keep comparing them to others is self explanatory.
Now like I said in the previous post "Those are not the only differences, now go re read and understand what they are and come back."

Looking at the Sweden graph one would have to be completely oblivious to the numbers and unaware of how graphs and trends work to assume the numbers are still in a downward trend.
Here is the hint again. Your drawn line across the graph needs be a lot shorter to distinguish when the downward trend ended. Sweden has been in an upward trend since the beginning of September.

No its not self explanatory. You just enjoy pulling shit out of your ass and passing it on as facts

Here's another hint. The 2nd Swedish wave is considerably smaller than the first one.
Thats a fact. This proves that less people are getting infected

Like I said you have a lack understanding of everything. That’s why you look at the graph and see a downward trend meanwhile Sweden has actually seen an upward trend since the beginning of September

That’s also why you think the elderly population in Italy Vs Sweden is not a big difference and only understand it as a 3% difference and not the population, meanwhile in reality the difference is over 11,000,000 people which is larger than Sweden’s population.
It’s clear where your getting your facts from.

Now post another picture of your European passport as that in your mind gives you credence to your non factual posts.

Oh I understand it perfectly. I countered your dumb argument that Italy had more elderly people, but then you fail to explain away why countries like UK and Spain have less elderly citizens, and yet they still have a higher infection rate per capita than Sweden.

And Spain locked down, while Sweden didnt. So your argument once again falls apart.

And me living in Europe for 15 years does indeed give me a much better perspective than someone who's lived in Scarborough all their life 😂

Sorry I didn't see a passport picture in one of your recent posts so I forgot. You're right how can I reason with someone whose lived in Europe for 15 years who is just so informed on the facts.
That he knows and fully understands the great similarities between Nordic countries and their people (Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden) and the differentiating ones than the rest of Europe.

You know the same person who is so knowledgeable and insightful about facts that he understands the small difference between the number of Italian Vs Swedish who are over 65 years old is just a 3% difference,
after all taking their respective population into consideration it only accounts for a very small, minimal, low, insignificant, miniscule number of 11,000,000+ people in contrast to one another.
After all this absolutely well educated and extremely informed person AKA "Stable Genius" is so aware and fully understands the utmost importance of keeping the rate of transmission to a low level is of the most importance in being able to control the spread of the Coronavirus to as low as possible and those countries who were most affective in doing so are the ones who are fairing the best in comparison to others. :ROFLMAO:

Nah, lockdowns were a success:

What is obviously clear is due to lockdowns:

1) serious vehicular accidents & deaths are way way down
2) flu deaths & serious complications have decreased tremendously
3) C-19 ill health & deaths are far less due to the lockdowns
4) likewise probably other communicable diseases (e.g. tuberculosis, HIV) have been greatly reduced by the extreme safety measures in place
5) street crimes have probably been highly reduced.
6) families have been able to spend more time together enjoying each others company while free from the slavery of that 4 letter word "work" that the vast majority hate. Giving more time for quality of life activities like sex & various entertainments.
7) abortions (child murder) are probably down.

Sweden just re adjusted the number of cases for the week, as per usual for them to do. Oct 21 was originally listed at 1,206 new cases

New number of cases
Oct 21----------1,575

Their 7 day average has changed on Oct 21 from 911 cases
Oct 21----------964

Which is their 2nd highest daily total number of cases ever. His claims about herd immunity have always been wrong, first it was based on the number of deaths, then it based in comparison to countries who were seeing a bigger wave. At no point is reaching herd immunity based on any of those facts.
Herd immunity can be seen in rate of transmission in the community, the rate of transmission in Sweden is high and has shown no sign of reaching or being near herd immunity.

They're the winner because they're only 4th worst?

The fact that you omitted most of the countries that are doing much better says a lot.
You guys love to compare Sweden to just 3 countries as well (Denmark, Finland and Norway), but when I compare Sweden to 4 other EU countries suddenly you claim that doesnt prove anything. Thats hypocrisy at its finest

But hardly anybody is dying. Only 4 deaths in the last week or so.
That tells me almost all new infections are young people.
Thats best and quickest way to get herd immunity
