Here's how well masks are working in Portugal 😂

https://www.theportugalnews.com/news/over-90-of-portuguese-always-wear-a-mask/55659
Over 90% of Portuguese always wear a mask

Portugal reports more than 1,000 new coronavirus infections in 24 hours for first time in 6 months

Doctors are seeing a rise in the bacterial infection "IMPETIGO" in children who wear masks

As if acne wasn't enough trauma for Zoomers. Now they have another disfiguring facial problem. And what will be the solution?? Wait for it.... It's more pharmaceuticals - likely antibiotics. (I know a Zoomer that had to go on antibiotics to cure it. Guess how long the Dermatologist prescribed the antibiotics? Six straight weeks! Jesus!!) And we all know antibiotics do magic for developing children. (Italics added for sarcastic effect.)

Could it be that wearing masks increases the potential of transmitting the virus? (There's a lot of crap building up on inside of these masks!) How else can Portugal be explained?? There should be a study on whether an infected person currently wearing the mask is more likely to infect another person, versus an infected person that never wears masks infecting another person. Or another study could determine if wearing a mask actually makes a person more susceptible to contracting the virus because the mask may have a deleterious effect on the mask wearer's health and immune system.

I suppose the mask could be swabbed for virus build-up. Does wearing the mask actually make the mask wearer a super-spreader? (We already know a lot of vapor escapes out the sides of the mask. Besides disfiguring facial bacteria, what else is building up inside these filthy masks.) I know this all sounds counter-intuitive.

I dont think so. If a mask is fitted properly like an N95 it should help.
Problem is almost nobody wears those things.

Its not just Portugal who's new cases are exploding by the way. France, Spain, Holland, UK and a bunch of other countries are all having an explosion of new infections right now. Its a massive 2nd wave, and nobody knows why because so many people are wearing masks and yet its not helping.

So the virus made in China, now takes a mask made in China, to prevent the virus made in China???

Yeah, no thanks

LOL......yeah, putting a napkin over your face will stop us all from getting the virus 😂
...
Seems not only do you ignore science that you don't like but you also have pretty low literacy skills.

But it is still idiotic to claim masks that reduce virus transmission by 90% (when both people wear them) are bad and instead we will be saved by the 20% of people with (a potentially temporary) immunity.

And Sweden is indeed approaching herd immunity, thats why their new infections compared to other countries is much lower
Wow. That's a whopper worthy of Trump.
1) They're not lower. Sweden has averaged 500 cases per day in the past couple weeks while Norway is steady at around 100 and Denmark around 400 (and on the downhill side of the second spike).
2) They have been climbing in the past 2 weeks.
It's only my speculation but (in addition to a death rate way higher than their neighbours) Sweden's lack of control caused the first wave to last far longer so their second wave was delayed.

Care to show any kind of scientific study that claims Sweden is anywhere near herd immunity?

Maybe people should be cleaning their masks as we've been told repeatedly. But if we have people like you claiming medicine is wrong, why would people see the need to clean them?
The best way to prevent impetigo is not wearing these masks in the first place

That post is up to your typicality level.

Like covid, impetigo is a contagious disease that you can only get by contact with an infected person. It's not caused by masks.

Yes Putting any sort of a face covering over ones nose and mouth will significantly reduce one’s exposure to the Coronavirus.

Sweden is nowhere near reaching immunity. First you falsely tried to equate herd immunity with the relevance of the reduced numbers of death, which has no bearing on reaching herd immunity.
Only someone who lacks knowledge in the subject would try to equate the two.

Herd immunity has to do with if the virus is still replicating and in Sweden it still is at a significant high level, and the rate it’s replicating at has been going higher.

In the last 3 days Sweden had 569 cases yesterday, 786 on October 6 and 375 cases on October 5th.

Their 7 day average has increased from 162 on September 1st to a whopping 528 as of yesterday October 7th.

Tell me again how close to herd immunity they are based on your non factual opinions.
As I’ve pointed out before Sweden’s testing has been one of the worse in Europe.

Swedens testing has become so bad that they are constantly (multiple times weekly) adjusting the numbers of cases.
They just changed and increased October 7th number of positive cases has changed from 569 to a whopping 831.
By some people’s standard that’s what immunity looks like.

1) Logical fallacy. The conclusion does not necessarily follow from the premise.

2) The rise in infections could be due to many other variables, such as people returning to school, more acting irresponsibly, more staying in higher risk environments such as indoors as the weather gets colder, etc,. In fact the rise could be even worse without masks being used.

And probably would be, because the scientific evidence says masks work. That's why in almost every nation on earth they are either mandated or recommended as per health experts instructions

3) Then why is it that Asian nations that use masks fared much better than Western nations that didn't use masks. Based on that info & your simplistic way of reaching conclusions, you should conclude that masks are working. But that would contradict your conclusion that masks aren't working. Can both be true, masks are working and masks aren't working?

4) The Ontario chart re infections shows that the daily numbers continually go up and then go down. So do you conclude that masks work on the days that infections went down. https://www.google.com/search?q=ont...rome..69i57.6877j0j1&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8

The rising numbers has to do with people NOT wearing their masks and socializing and doing it more and more indoors!

Schools being open will also be part of the problem although they are trying hard to play this part of it down at the moment.

It is DUMBASS thinking to believe the rise has anything to do with wearing masks.
