Nobody? Not a chance this happens. Even if they wanted to sell, there's nobody to buy.
MLSE might be an interested player in this scenario.

Rogers and BELL are co-owners of MLSEDoes Rogers own a part of MLSE?
I am absolutely no authority on the topic, but if so, how could it be construed as an arms length deal?
Kilmer Sports (Larry Tanenbaum)~(25%) Rogers Communications~(37.5%) and BCE~(37.5%) own MLSE.Rogers and BELL are co-owners of MLSE
The comment I replied to was that there was no one to sell to. Well, there is, MLSE.Why would Rogers sell to a company that is owned in part by a competitor? Any idea how many hours of television time the Blue Jays occupy on Sportsnet and if they sold to MLSE you can bet Bell Media would want to be able to bid on the rights. Rogers has billions they don't need cash. I am not an expert so just my two cents.
Correct, I should have wrote majority co-ownersKilmer Sports (Larry Tanenbaum)~(25%) Rogers Communications~(37.5%) and BCE~(37.5%) own MLSE
Last season was the first in which I failed to attend any game and I actually like watching ball games at the Sky Dome and been doing it since they opened it back in 89, I think. I've sat through a lot of good games, but the last 20 years were simply atrocious, for the most part. And last year was the final straw for me. Fuck them and fuck Rogers. When they get a ball team, I might come back. Those idiots forgot that in Toronto only the Leafs have a license to lose.Atkins was not part of the jays organization before Shapiro.
I hope AA told them to shove it,but in business don’t burn bridges just in case he might want to come back when this failure is complete and less than 1.7(announced)mil is the attendance this year and all other revenue streams take a huge hit.
If millions lost already due to this miscalculation turns into 10s-100 million (which is will),Rogers will have no choice to either throw Shapiro under the bus or sell the team.
Well...it does. He could have kissed Shapiro's ass and accepted the offer. Lot's of people don't like their boss. The reality is, he was offered an extension.Seeing as it doesn't really make a difference, sure.
I was saying that it this point right now, it doesn't matter whether it is called a firing or a resignation. That ship has sailed.Well...it does. He could have kissed Shapiro's ass and accepted the offer. Lot's of people don't like their boss. The reality is, he was offered an extension.
Shack, while I appreciate and respect your opinions on the Blue Jays. Do you have anything positive at all on the current management team?I was saying that it this point right now, it doesn't matter whether it is called a firing or a resignation. That ship has sailed.
Tough question, but fair.Shack, while I appreciate and respect your opinions on the Blue Jays. Do you have anything positive at all on the current management team?
There has to be some good things you like about them, no matter how insignificant.
No arguments for most of what you say (except I don't like to be considered amusing unless I am making a joke). Not sure why many expect this would be different with AA. He left the jays with an old and overpriced lineup with no young players coming up to the team that were gray from 2010-3017. This is extra important when you have cheap owners who will not allow you to spend because there is no one young coming up. Also when the peak age is now 2 years younger, and 2 years earlier in a career, then it was a generation ago, The jays just did not develop any mlb ready position players for too long a time and an overpriced team got very old very
The slide was all very predictable. I was not against the trades in 2015 (that was the jays window and it is not those trades that killed them for the most part) but the slide was inevitable and I called it for 2017 or 2018 back when the trade was made. Predicting general franchise success cycles in baseball is not rocket science. Some teams will be aberrations but you can generally see falls coming most of the time.
As for Shapiro and crew. I think they did a brilliant job in 2016. Signing happy and Estrada to good deals were good uses of money. Since the. I have not been overly high on them. They may be doing well on the prospect front but the management of mlb assets has not been great. While the jays likely pushed for retaining Donaldson back in summer of 3017 and winter of 2018, Shapiro should have been able to convince them that was dumb.
Have to give AA credit for Vlad Guerrero. But it was the long gap in positional player development before that, that crushed Thai’s franchise.
