So you're bringing up 2001 stats for the hell of it??

Gotcha!!!!
Not for the hell of it.
frank stated that Buehrle had never pitched out of the bullpen.
In fact he has, 25 times in his major league career.

Gives up 4 in the 5th. Looks like he's run out of gas for the season.
Looks like the Old Man tapped into the reserve gas tank to go for the win.

He needs 2 innings. That's about the equivalent of a side session. I wonder if he is going to start on Sunday.

Just enough to get the 200. I'm betting that Gibby has given him the option, and that's why he was palled at the 100 pitch mark tonight. So he is capable of doing just that.

AL MVP - Josh Donaldson; runner-up Jose Bautista (Yes, actually on the stats!)
AL Cy Young - Dallas Keuchel (should win his 20th tonight in AZ); runner-up David Price
AL exec of year - AA

AL manager of year - Gibby? Looks like Twins won't make the playoffs or Molly would be the sentimential favourite. I don't know much about the managers for the Astros and Rangers.
AL rookie of the year? - Pillar and Osuna should pick up some votes.

Yup, I think B starts sunday. 200 innings for 15 straight years has only been done by 3 other pitchers all HOFers; not that Buehrle is going into the HOF.

Another impressive come from behind win. Tulo looked like he didn't miss a beat.

So math geniuses, correct me if I'm wrong but we only have to win 1 more game, and KC has to win their remainders for us to clinch.

Am I right, or am I wrong??

That was one hell of a catch by Pillar, that guy can track the ball amazingly well!
Pillar has really grown on me.

All he needs to do is hit 15 to 17 dingers, knock in 60 to 70 ribbies, and play stellar defense (which comes natural to him), and we got ourselves our next Devon White for the next 10 years or so

Buehrle also started in centrefield when he was in little League.

Whadda you think Costanza, should we try him out there as well??

I love Gibby, but he won't get many MOTY votes. Hinch (Houston) and Banister (Texas) are the front-runners. Both have made chicken salad out of you-know-what. Molitor will get some votes, too. Minny didn't make the playoffs, but they came close with a very young roster. AA winning exec of the year will sway voters away from Gibby.

You are wrooong. Your scenario gives KC the pennant. Consider yourself corrected.

You were wise, though, to seek out knowledge from people who can do math.

I wonder if coming in 2nd might be better. I like that "3 in a row at home" for 2nd place team.

I agree with Zauno.

The extended rest that David Price has been assigned to could hurt in the playoffs and he cited valid examples. If Buehrle gets his 200 innings on Sunday, Price should get some innings as well just to keep him sharp. Now is not the time to run the risk of him coming out sluggish in the playoffs. Apart from that I won't discuss numbers with the lot of you, although it does make for interesting reading. I'm enjoying this run too much to bother with statistics.

Rogers nearly shit the bed, they wanted to fire both Beeston and AA at the end of last season. Their strategy had not come to fruition and that calamity was ever present. Luckily they took their collective heads out of their fartholes and here were are! For the future health of the Jays, I hope AA and Mark Shapiro do a sit down before the playoffs start.

Let the playoffs begin!
