WOW! The Yankees lost again? Could it be possible that they choke and lose the wild card to Houston and LA Angels? The Magic number for the Yanks is 2.

The problem with the double header is that the Jays had to field their "B" team in the second game and lost. This might mean they will not have the best winning record in the American League and lose home field advantage.

Not a big deal. The advantage not being top team in the AL is that Gibbons will know well in advance who he will play and gives him more time to prepare a lineup and pitching rotation. Even do scouting reports for the players. Rather than wait for the winner of the wild card game. In fact I would rest some of the starters.

Jays had 18 hits and 10 walks LOL They must've bribed the Oreos pitchers with hookers and Canadian bacon.

Good to see the Jays fans at the park give AA a "thank you" chant. He took a lot of heat earlier this season. Hope he's here for a long time, heard he's already been resigned but they're keeping it quiet until after the Post season.

Game 2 of the double header will be the Buffalo Bisons vs. the Orioles LOL
Re-signed.

Jays are still up 1 game on Royals, which is really 2 games because if they wind up tied homefield still goes to the Jays

So losers?

I heard that the Orioles turned the temperature down in the visiting clubhouse. Jose commented on by saying that he was freezing, Russell Martin showed his Canadian spirit by going bare chested. Nice to hear from Edwin, love the man. I believe that the turning point of the season happened during the dugout clearing vs the Royals with EE taking matters into his own hands. The team really came together after that.

As Joe Bowen would say: "Bless you boys". Forza Blue Jays, campionato avanti!

Yanks fail to clinch a playoff birth for the third straight night. Their magic number falls from 2 to 1 with LAA loss.

But it's still possible that the pimpstripes can be eliminated with a losing streak and LAA running the table.

If the Jays don't win 1st overall because Gibby fielded a minor league team, he should be fired. He takes losing too easy.

Yer kidding right. Boys deserved the night off. We have the equivalent of a 2 game lead for it with four to play. And a game next day at noon. They deserved a celebration.

They will win two of the next four and lock it up.

Just looking at those photos of last night's celebration, I'm not betting on the boys to win the game at noon today.

It will be the Toronto Bisons taking the field at noon.

Liam Hendriks must have had an interesting upbringing. He has rugby scars on his ear lobes, he also went dry during the celebration. Obviously, unlike Mel Gibson, he realized he had a problem.

Hutch is going. Maybe he will choose today to be brilliant one more time. Either way we have Price on Sunday and Estrada in Saturday. And a motivated Buerle on Friday to get his innings.

Today depends on how many regulars start.

Number 1 seed would be nice, but it isn't like we don't get any home games if we play KC - we still get 3 - and who knows maybe Yanks or Angels knock off KC.....the most dangerous series is the first one because it is only 3 of 5, and baseball can be streaky...and the season now would be disappointing if the Jays pulled a Raptors and flamed out early. So play to win with whomever, but you can get some rest for the big guys. They still have to play the regulars in Tampa Bay to keep the bats sharp. Mr. Gibbons will know that.

Jays go 2-2, KC needs to go 4-0. 2-2 is possible for the Jays given the same lineup from the second game is supposed to start again this afternoon and the Jays are only 8-8 against the Rays this year.

Of course he was freezing, they were dumping bottles of cold champagne and beer all over themselves. Sure there was a chill in the air outside, but I doubt turning the heat off inside would have cooled the place off that much. I haven't even turned the heat on in my house yet and it's still plenty warm at night inside.

If Gibby is smart he starts a mixture of regulars and Bisons

Dickey went 5 scoreless innings in the second game. That game was winnable with a little help from the regulars.
