Confirmed. That means they will sit Buehrle out for a start or delay him. Hope that the issues w Papa aren't serious
Zauno was hinting that Buehrle and some of the other Jays apparently arent too happy about all this.

I hope it doesnt affect team harmony

Buehrle looked awful yesterday and is not in physically best shape. If it's just to let him heal, I can't see what the problem is.

Otherwise, just go to a 6-man rotation and everyone gets 1 more day of rest. Except perhaps Price and Estrada, I guess.

Zaun full of shit, as usual.

John Gibbons confirmed that Marcus Stroman will make his first start of the season on Saturday in New York, taking Mark Buehrle's scheduled spot in the rotation. The veteran left-hander is back in Toronto to receive a cortisone shot in his left shoulder, clearly struggling with some nagging arm soreness.

The start for Stroman will be his first appearance with the Blue Jays since September 26 of last season. As you'll recall, the Duke grad tore his ACL during a fielding exercise in spring training this season and miraculously rehabbed his injury to the point of an early return. It appears as though he will oppose Michael Pineda in a game that will feature a ton of hype, with the contest being televised nationally in the United States.

Buehrle on the other hand will miss a few days due to the cortisone shot and sounds to be on track to pitch Tuesday in Atlanta. The southpaw laboured in his start yesterday afternoon and will have eight days of rest before his next appearance, which comes on the heels of having seven days off before Monday's appearance. It's beginning to look like he may not break the 200 IP mark for the first time since his rookie season in 2000.

Zaun is a "wanna-be-Don Cherry" blowhard. Entertaining and does make many good points, but a blowhard nonetheless.

How foolish does he look now with his proclamation that Trout was clearly more deserving of MVP than Josh. And that was only 3 or 4 weeks ago.

So Dan Dombrowski address the Jays - Red Sox issue. He spoke with Rogers prior to taking on the Red Sox job. They wanted him only to look after the brand and not the baseball club. DD wanted more so he signed with the Red Sox.

OK, you are hearing this first.....it is a mistake by Gibbons to start Stroman on Saturday......here is what I would do....I would start Dickey on Saturday and Stroman on Sunday. Here is why......the Yankees will pitch Tanaka on Sunday and that means that is the game they are most likely to win. Stroman might be brilliant or he might struggle....if he struggles it was an underdog game to begin with. We have Price going on Thursday so that is our most likely win. So on Saturday we could be going for win number 2 or 3 in the series...with a hot proven pitcher who was not extended tonight against Boston...aand Dickey can beat whoever they start saturday

If we are up 2-1 going into Sunday - going with Stroman is a good gamble. Tanaka can beat Dickey straight up....Dickey can beat anyone else on saturday straight up.

think about it

FYRE da GIBBONS!

It is Gibby's fault the players keep lining balls hard right at Red Sox infielders, right?

You are entitled to what your opinion for what it is worth, but I just don't see your point. Tanaka can be had just like any pitcher on any given day. The game Stroman starts, he will be on a pitch count, so it will be Stroman and the bullpen vs the Yankees. If Dickey pitches as well as he did tonight the Jays will have a shot at knocking Tanaka off.

IMHO Russell Martin is our MVP, how many runs has he saved us by throwing out base runners? He's now three put outs way from the single season record of 28 set by Bengie Molina in 06.

Wheels falling off for the Red Sox in the 10th , 5-1 Jays!
The Fenway taketh away and the Fenway giveth. If Josh had been awarded that Homer, then the Jays would likely have just gotten 1 run in the 10th. But because he was on 3rd with less than 3 outs, the Sox walked Eddie and got into a first and third when Josh scored. Then they got nervous and balked and muffed plays until 3 more runs scored.

And God Bless Chris Davis, my favourite Oriole. I wished my buddy on FB from Delaware good luck to the O's and Davis after they left town on Sunday. I was just being nice - (because we all know the O's suck shit) - but the karma came back to me. Yanks lose on a Davis home run.

I'm sure a lot of you guys missed this, but Gibby was standing up and moving around a lot more in the 10th inning tonight.

Nad is over-analyzing. It's baseball and usually what happens is exactly what you DON'T expect. ("That's why they play 'em all out on the field, folks!")

I just hope to fuck Marcus finds his control and release point before Saturday or the Yanks are going to eat the youngster with mustard.

Insider's note - The plumbing in the Fenway doesn't work too well. Gibby budgeted his coffee intake for a 9 inning game and didn't want to risk using the washroom facilities.

Now that is inside baseball...also it is a small dugout and quite overcrowded with all the call ups - and it is a lot farther from home plate than the RC - Gibbons is error free managing for some time, and he can get bonus points if he adopts my idea above about stroman pitching sunday. He may in fact be thinking about it given dickey only pitched 6 innings tonight
