Gibby puts Revere at the top of the lineup. He gets two hits and Jays win.

Pillar goes 1 for 3 and gets an RBI.

I am a genius.
Revere goes 2/4 0 runs 0 RBI O SB 2K 0 W. and you think that makes you a genius?

Not sure how accurate this is, from twitter:

An MLB team winning 11 in a row twice in 1 season hasnt happened since 65 years ago

I heard that the New York Giants did it in 1954 on their way to winning the WC.

A small pet peeve:

I've attended several games this year and I can't help but not that a former great isn't on The Ring of Honour: Doc Halladay. With all due respect to Dave Steib and David Price, he IS the best pitcher the Jays have ever had. Are there any plans to to include his name on that exalted list?

@ Von, I'm not 100% sure but I think you have to be retired for a few years before you're eligible. Doc retired in 2013.

But yeah, his name better up there eventually

He just retired. I think a little more time needs to pass to let his time here to become a 'thing of legend'; or not.

You can make the argument Stieb was the better pitcher , he had the highest WAR rating for ALL pitchers during the 80's, higher than guys like Nolan Ryan, Jack Morris, and Bert Blyleven. 25% of his career starts were complete games. Different era's entirely but it's closer than one thinks. The guy was an asshole while Halladay was a quiet and likeable teammate, and he was the prototypical workhorse, so Doc tends to get more press.

Halladay signed a one day contract to retire as a Jay, so I think it's obvious they Jays will honour him in the next couple years.
I was at one of his gems at Skydome, complete game 3 hit shutout against the yanks, I think he threw 94 pitches if recall correctly. The game was over in 2 hours. LOL

He should get Hall consideration but when guys like Morris can't get in with longer careers and better accumulative stats , it's going to be tough.

Valid point.

Morris's numbers in comparison to Doc's are deceptive. Morris always had strong teams to pitch for, the Tigers were powerful in the 80's then he joined a Twins team loaded with sluggers. He was outstanding in 1991 WC but you got the sense he had very little left after that. Doc came to the Jays when InBev absorbed Labatts, the Belgians didn't give a shit about the Jays. And as I've said in Leafs threads, when bad decisions are made the repercussions can linger indefinitely. In the Jays case 22 years. Doc pitched for teams that were bad to mediocre at best and he held his own against powerful Yankees and Red Sox teams. When he got to Philadelphia, the Phillies were past their best before date and the hitters betrayed his efforts in the playoffs. For me Doc is The Ultimate Blue Jay, a Borje Salming of the diamond.

Confirmed: EE will be in the lineup tonight. And, Hutch will be pitching on Sunday, rubber match.
Don't discount Hut's start but Hutch maybe the only winning pitcher vs. Yanks this weekend. This weekend series will not mean anything to the Jays IF they go into Tampa on the final series of the season and lose the final playoff spot to the Rays:(
I wouldn't count out the Orioles or the Rays at this point in the season. The Yanks could end up in 4th in the division by end of season as sports pundits predicted at the beginning.

Just take 2 out of 3 against the Yankees and I'll be happy.

Any more is bonus.

I hope our fellow fans don't behave like Taunting French Types (Monty Python) tonight and give The Mighty A-Roid the respect and adulation he deserves.

Will Matt Stairs be in attendance?
