Ventura apologised for two reasons.

1. Jose is part of the executive committee within the MLBPA and the spokesman for Latino players.

2. Jose would have depantsed him with his bat the next time they faced each others and that may be in the playoffs.

Is that the Royal bitch who was mimicking Donaldson about being a cry baby when another Royal pitcher threw near his head ... twice ?

Everyone back on the bus now?

AA couldn't have done much more to get the jays play-off bound (and keep his job).

Actually his name is Yordano Ventura which I'm assuming is the Spanish version of Giordano Ventura.

He called Joey Bats a nobody, which he sensibly apologized for, but that didn't stop Zauno from giving him a verbal facewash.

Prior to these trades, the Jays were a .500 team, now they are a .600 team.

So, David Price's next start is on Saturday against the Yankees in Yankee Stadium. Too bad he can't pitch every 4th day.

Actually, they are 10 & 6 since the ASG, a .625 record. And 5 & 2, .714, in this home stand.

.625 over a whole season means a 101 & 61 record -- probably a best in baseball kind of record. And .625 over the remaining 55 games means 34 & 21 and 89 & 73 for the season which is likely short of any playoff spot.

They will need to go 36 & 19 -- .654 -- to have a clear chance at the post season: doable with this team now, but not an easy task.

Was going over the Jays' remaining schedule and they have their work cut out for them. Doable but far from easy and not a chance without the recent trades.
To me they have to win every series, if they do wild card should happen and the Yanks are not out of reach.
gittter dun 1 day at a time!

Not necessarily. Keep in mind we are in a playoff spot now. It means some teams will need a better record than us to pass us. I think an AL WC team's record this year may be lower than previous years. AL is not as dominant this year (so far, anyways).

It's possible a .600 record from here on in may secure a spot. Obviously, winning the AL East (barring a Yankee collapse) will take a much better record.

BTW, magic # for said AL East is 63. I remember when it used to be 163.

As an aside the 1994 Montreal expos played .a tad below 700 ball for the last 100 games before the strike. 70-31.

Aaron Sanchez~3 & John Gibson~1 suspended for actions in Sunday's game. No Kansas City personnel were suspended.

Gibby will serve his suspension tonight.
The Blue Jays are appealing Sanchez's suspension and he will be eligible to play until the process is complete.

My guess is Toronto will use Sanchez tonight & tomorrow and drop the appeal.
A.S. would then miss the last game of the Minnesota series and the 1st 2 of the Yankees series.

I'd rather they keep him for the Yankees. Let him serve it against Oakland next week after an off day on Monday. Rested pen and easier games for the team before the yanks come back in again.

The Blue Jays have said Price will pitch every 5th day (barring rainouts on days he's scheduled), and others (read Hutch) will be bumped to keep David on his schedule.
Otherwise, what DanJ said is accurate, and a normal situation.
But, if he went every 5 days, he would pitch next Thursday afternoon against the A's, rather the the following night against the Yankees. I think they keep him at 5 games to face the Yanks 4 times.

Quite possible. I'd rather he face New York than Oakland. We shall see....
