The great ones ALWAYS do that. I remember when Clements won the Cy Young with the Jays back in the 90's, he would relieve himself not only in the 4th, but also in the 6th as well. On one occasion, the umpire actually called a balk over it.

In case anyone doesn't know...the line "relieved himself on the mound" was from sportscaster famous for inadvertent double entendres. It is used when a pitcher pitches out of a jam he created himself (altho it looked like the ump squeezed him on the walks).

The other one I remember went something like this........"there is a deep drive to right....Jones going back back - his head hits the wall....its rolling back towards the infield"

There may be an ancillary payoff to making Mr. Price a Blue Jay. Drew Hutchison has been hanging around him like a little brother. Since he's been here Hutch has had plenty of coaching but never a mentor. Perhaps with Price around he could learn how to control his emotions and become a consistent pitcher.

I'm surprised EE efforts to control the scrum after Escobar got plonked were not noted by Tim and Sid. Without him it could have been much worse and suspensions meted out. The Royals can afford them, the Jays cannot. Senor Papagallo no longer fits EE, his new moniker is The Quiet Man.

We need this guy to be a star...and so giving him pretty close to what he asked would have sent a positive vibe. but a little extra spark could have been created by paying this newcomer more so he becomes a perennial all star. So my point is that giving him this signal that the brass doesnt think he is worth as much as he thinks he is...sends a negative vibe.

How much more motivated would Donaldson have been if the Jays paid him what he asked instead of going to arbitration?

The Blue Jays are in fact tied for the 2nd WC spot, tiny percentage points behind Minnesota.

Twins and the Angels have both been collapsing since the All Star game and both wild card teams could end up coming out of the AL East.
Most likely result might be Baltimore at Toronto in wild card, which would be something else with all the bad blood between these 2 teams over the last couple of seasons.

So the Rogers continues to dump money in an outdated stadium.

Don't think they realize, doesn't matter how much you do it, it's the structer/design itself that has no atmoshpere or appeal.

Get over it.

Get a winning team with 40-50,000 fans and it will have plenty of atmosphere.

Coincidence that it stopped having atmosphere in the mid-90's after they'd become a losing team. Never heard anyone complain about the dome 'til they started losing.

Well, I think today pretty much proves my point and debunks yours. The structure itself has little to do with the atmosphere. Just ask David Price.
