If David Price stays, and Stroman/Sanchez come through next year, Jays are legit division contenders (if not WS contenders).

I'm getting excited folks!! :eyebrows:

just like reading the sports page of a Toronto daily paper!:)
Not much difference except that occasionally they actually get to interact directly with players/management.

I don't put much stock in their predictions and even less so, the ones on here.

The deal is Price for Norris, Boyd and Jairo Labourt. Alford is staying for now, would've been a huge loss as he's looking like a legit 5 tool player and he's still only 20. Norris is a big loss but he hasn't been consistent in the minors this year. Boyd and Labourt are dime a dozen prospects so no real losses there.

Big gamble for 2 months of Price but the prospect cupboard is still looking strong even with these trades.

I'd be surprised if AA doesn't get a 5 year extension in the coming weeks.

I don't remember the last time the Jays were in a pennant race with this much excitement. It's going to be a hell of a ride. I'm buying tickets right now!

Also if my math is right AA went over budget with the Price trade, so thanks to Rogers for making this happen. LOL

OK guys. Here's your chance. Time for the experts to speak up.

Without the help of hindsight, anybody going on record as criticizing these last 2 moves.

Hell no!!!!

Assuming Price/Tulo sign long-term deals, I think both trades are HUGE steals!!

I dunno WTF Detroit, Rockies and Oakland were thinking

Sportsnet just said Price's market value is $200+ million for a 7-year deal when he resigns this winter. No way are Jays gonna pay that.

So yeah, looks like he's a rental :(

Especially not with the Canadian dollar plunging. Gonna enjoy the hell out of all his starts though. Hope there's some postseason starts in there!

True Jays policy has been a max of 5 years....but it's a changing world and AA is proving he has balls...how do you say WS (AGAIN!)

Thank you Jays for proving our faith!!

Don't want to be the one to sour on the party atmosphere in here. But, we should be reminded that the Jays are still 51-51 as of July 30. What good on paper may not translate to more W's on the field. I learned this from the Leafs for years! LOL!

Follow my previous thread, with about 60 games to go I think Jays need to put up something like 40-20 record. Maybe enough to over take the division? Doable but it could be tough. Pressure is on the players and Gibby to deliver.

Yanks and Dodgers will push hard to sign Price during the off season, they can offer a lot more money and a more competitive team than the Jays. I'd love to see him stay but I just don't think they can compete with the Yanks. I honestly believe Price will end up a Yankee next year. I hope I'm wrong.

I like the Tulo move. The Price trade I have reservations as I don't like rentals. No one expects Burhle to re-sign and that frees up a pile of money so maybe they can sign Price. If they can sign Price awesome deal! I don't think he overpaid for Price. Just my opinion and I don't expect a lot of support.
