I know exactly what happened. All he did was throw a ball. Who expects to get injured throwing from shallow right to 1st base? Totally fluke. He could make the same throw 1,000 times with no after effects.

Nothing selfish, just freakish.
I'm sure you read the sports pages and all the Toronto baseball reporters seem to agree with me.

I think in years past he hurt himself swinging a bat.
Another selfish play. He hurt his left wrist on the follow through. I actually had the same thing happen to me that summer swinging a pitching wedge. It took over a year to heal.

He has tried that play previosly and was successful. Nobody complained and many called it a great play. However, because he hurt himself this time without getting the runner out people are saying he was hot dogging.
Bautista does this on occasion. He throws behind a runner that took too wide a turn at first.
When he nails the runner everyone says look how observant he is, smart. This particular time it appears he got hurt and admits he was a little ticked when he throw the ball.

So Encarnacion goes 0 for 5, and makes the final out with Reyes on 2nd base representing the tying run. Whats even more worrying is he couldnt get around on an 89 MPH fastball twice yesterday. Those are pitches that usually should wind up in the upper deck.

Maybe he's carrying an injury perhaps that we dont know about??

His BA now is .216

And if Cola makes that simple catch in the outfield we don't need the run do we?

Also true, but I find it hard to fault Cola since he's not a natural outfielder

Bottom line is Jays lost. They should have swept but lost the series. Bad outfield plays in both games cost them....Add to that stupidity on the bases and the inability to get timely hits.

Well we use to bitch about the pitching, at least that has changed.........for now!

As for Cola good stick not much else! Play him at DH, that doesn't get EE any rest. Wonder if someone would give up an outfield prospect or a reliever for him?

The Blue Jays need a new General Manager. Could you think of any other sport that a GM would last as long without anything positive?
2013 was supposed to be the big year, we are still waiting. Is there any other sport where they will bring back a field manager after being fired for
a losing performance, did nothing but brought back to continue the losing performance?

They both must go. We have some great players on the team, Donaldson, Martin, etc but without a balanced team, one with depth and a good farm system it will be
more of the same.

Game 1: WSH 2 Jays 0 Bottom of the 6th. So far on this set of 10 gms road trip, the Jays are 1-2. The Jays are followed the Leafs lead. If they are falling farther behind in the standing by Jul 1,they probably would try to 'tank' to obtain higher draft picks. There's no incentive to play any harder because the front office personnel will be gone starting with Beeston at the end of the season. AA will go down with the ship he helped to build with his buddy,Gibby!
Unless AA likes to shake up the ship one more time by trading for Cueto and Votto of the Reds? Grab Chapman too while you're at it,AA! The Reds are already 10 games out of first in their own division so they could be in the seller mode early. Include EE in the package to make it works. Maybe?

Gibbons is a freaking genius!! He doesnt need to know anything about the intentional walk.....by all means pitch to the best hitter in the NL. By all means waste Encarnacion...just lucky EE didnt swing at a bad pitch which was what the Nats wanted him to do..

Us mere mortals can't understand how the genius mind works. Gibbons for manager of the year.

Six singles isn't going to cut it against a team like Washington and tonight we have to face their ace.

Sometimes the bats come alive against an ace though.

We shall see
