This roster is not much different than the one that finished last season.
Here are the big differences.
1) New ownership - George Cope and Bell.
2) New GM
3) New coach - Randy Carlye said it best to-day. We play the style that caters best to the ability of our existing players.

I don't know why you Phaneuf fans say it's not his fault when Phaneuf himself admitted he cost his team the game.
I do not blame him.
Phaneuf is doing what leaders do. He tried something, it did not workout so he steps up.

The old GM rebuilt the team to play a style that he felt would be competitive.

Carlyle stepped into a situation where he coached the style that Burke had envisioned before they even had enough of those players to do so.

Another home game for the Leafs. More money for the new owners Bell and Rogers. Query: Do players get paid for playoff games? Maybe not.

Good luck, Leafs.

No matter what happens tomorrow, the know-it-all naysayers, and we know who they are, have been silenced. Reimer has every reason to be called an NHL star goalie this playoff season. It was close to flawless.

Very good positional play in their defensive zone by the Leafs. Not much running around like in previous games. Kept the SOG's under 30 and Reimer took care of the rest. Pretty even handed officiating by the refs but that goalie interference call against the Leafs was ridiculous.

The only thing that could have been better is Reimer getting the SO he deserved.

Phanuef scores ! I love it !
Kessel with another GWG ! He flattened Chara.
Lupul, Grabovski, Komerov, Franson, Gardiner all played great.
Regardless of what happens tomorrow night I want to say thank you to my team, the Toronto Maple Leafs. Thank you boys. Leaf Nation is and always has been 100% behind you.

Go Leafs !

WOW! Boston had a choke hold on the Leafs but who's wearing the noose now? Boston has to be thinking about the choke of 2010.

If the Rangers win game 7 and the Leafs win game 7. The Leafs get home ice in the next round.

And Claude Julien gets fired. HAHAHA!!!

Hopefully, people will stop making Phaneuf the go to whipping boy....

He was strong in both Games 5 and 6....

And Jake Gardiner is fantastic to watch....Love watching that kid skate....

Joe Colborne looked real good in his first playoff game.....

Didn't the old GM handpick the old bench coach and the old goaltender coach? BTW: Where are these old coaches now?
Cliff Fletcher hired Wilson. Burke hired Carlyle.
I believe Burke hired both goaltending coaches, the one he fired and the current one.
The players on the current leaf roster are Burke's players. There are very few that Nonis has brought in.(1 I think)

I remember reading that Nonis was the architect of the deal that brought Phaneuf from Calgary....
Burke's deserves a lot of credit but so does Nonis since he was Burke's right hand man....

I think to-night was Kadri's best game and at a much needed time with Bozak out. I thought I even saw Kadri do some PK time.

It seems to me that the Phaneuf critics were mainly armchair GM's. The media has been fairly supportive of him.

and would personally inject either McLaren or Hamilton over Kulemin who has looked very slow and tired all series.
Ain't gonna happen, no way, no how. Kulemin plays a much more disciplined game than those others.

I think playing the next day helps the Leafs. Less time for Boston to institute adjustments and also catch their (Chara) breath.

Although Kulmein hasn't exactly been an offensive force he definitely seems to making up for it on the defensive side....
