I almost forgot... Airplane.

This movie gets funnier with every viewing. Watching the Don't Call Me Shirley edition is a great experience as it has so many interesting factoids and also runs the movie parallel to the serious movie it was based on.
And yes, I am serious.

You should check it out again.
TM7 is a fun remake and features a fine collection of then-popular pretty boys galloping and gallivanting around some Hollywood backlots pretending to be cowboys.
You sound as if you're suggesting Seven Samurai is a record of non-actors caught up in real events.

As I said, Elmer Bernstein's score is one of the major reasons I've liked watching TM7 again and again. I'd probably rate TSS as equivalent or better than TM7 from the standpoint of galloping and gallivanting.

I am not sure why but I can watch Drag me to Hell so many times and not be bored of it. Home Alone 1 and 2 are usually on TV every Christmas and I never get tired of watching those either, maybe for nostalgic reasons. Groundhog day, Terminator 1 and 2 as well.

Probably #1 on my list is Groundhog Day. Just a funny, feel good movie that has some profound life lessons embedded in the script.

Aside from that, I have watched these many times...

Godfather 1 and 2
Terminator 1 and 2
Pulp Fiction
The Sting
Hunt for Red October
Shawshank Redemption
Unforgiven

TMS actors are top drawer. Always go by cast! Very few films, ever, have had such a stellar cast. Many of the stars were at start of their career (when they were cheap). Show me another film which has so many now-seen-as-superstar actors, in actual character parts (not cameos).
I expect there are a few stinkers out there that had some top drawer stars in them. I think it depends on the stars. Some are just content to crank out another film and make millions of dollars while they do it. Others are more concerned with the quality of the film and their legacy as professional actors.

I think more often it is the director. The best directors will be attracted to the best scripts. Then with a great director and script together, it becomes possible to attract the best actors, at least the ones with some integrity.

But as long as we are talking about films with outstanding cast, how about these. I think they compare very favourably with Magnificent Seven:

Kelly's Heroes

Clint Eastwood
Telly Savalas
Don Rickles
Carroll O'Connor
Donald Sutherland
Gavin MacLeod

Godfather

Marlon Brando
Al Pacino
Jame Caan
Diane Keaton
Abe Vigoda

Dirty Dozen

Lee Marvin
Ernest Borgnine
Charles Bronson
Jim Brown
George Kennedy
Telly Savalas
Donald Sutherland
Clint Walker

Magnificent Seven
Yul Brynner
Eli Wallach
Steve McQueen
Charles Bronson
Robert Vaughn
James Coburn

I bet you also watch gladiator movies.

I've watched some movies close to 10 times but I find after so many viewings even the best movie gets stale. Good memories, like to quote the films, think of the best scenes but after a while, just can't watch it anymore. Same for TV.

People who watch the same movie 40 or 50 times, I don't know how they do it, unless it is porn.

How many times have you watched Limitless it came out last year!

Great scene in The Thomas Crown Affair...Do you play?

I think I saw it some thirty/forty times already. Ha ha.

As for Thomas Crown Affair. I am talking about the Pierce Brosnan version but the original one is just as good. He walked out on her. Like it should be as opposed to the Brosnan version where he takes her in.

Rocky Horror Picture Show - must ahve seen it dozens of times when I was younger :)
When I was much younger, we used to go to the Rocky Horror Picture Show often. It wasn't a movie, it was an event. Many good times. It was always fun to bring a Rocky virgin just to see their reaction at certain points in the show.

I don't normally set out to watch movies I've already seen, but there are a few that I find very entertaining so when I stumble onto them in reruns late at night, I tend to watch them again. The four I've probably done this with the most are:
1) True Lies
2) Trading Places
3) Grease
4) Roadhouse

I know, not exactly classics or thought provoking, but IMHO, all very entertaining.

Rounders. At one point I was watching it once a week for 10 weeks in a row. When I was more into the poker thing (especially after a successful day) I would watch it as motivation, sometimes with the commentaries.

I am not a poker player but a baccarat player and I found to learn much from the movie. "Never forget the cardinal of poker. Always leave yourself outs."

Plus I can relate to Matt Damon's character. Had the exact experience he had in terms of relationships with women. Best scene was him and Petrovsky at the bar talking about destiny.
