Yes.The Jays had tied a record with 7 20 HR's players.
Did their shortstop position also hit a combined 20 HR's?

Anyone want to hazard a guess as to how Lind would do at first next season? The Jays would have to offer EE a minimum of 4.5 million through arbitration. (cannot offer less then 15% of prior year salary)... the problem is once you do not offer a potential FA arbitration, they cannot re-sign with you until May 1.
Same reason I don`t think they will keep Overbay. There is no way they are offering him $6.7M in arbitration. So they will not tender him.
Even if Encarnacion and Overbay were interested in the Jays at a reasonable price, if they want to test the market a bit then the Jays are a SOL.
Lind and Snider are not that good defensively. That is why they have to hit 25-30 HR's and .280-.300 to earn their keep.Anyone want to hazard a guess as to how Lind would do at first next season?
Lind, no argument; but, I've heard Alan Ashby say many times that he thinks Snider is a good outfielder. In particular Ashby thinks that Snider has an excellent throwing arm to anywhere in the infield.Lind and Snider are not that good defensively. Pretty sure the May 1st thing is gone now.. they can sign anytime. The Jays would have to offer EE a minimum of 4.5 million through arbitration. He's talking May 1st 2011.Pretty sure the May 1st thing is gone now.. they can sign anytime.
I just heard this on the FAN, it is unofficial at this point. I like the idea of a pitching coach/former pitcher as Manager just because he would likely be better able to handle the pitching staff.A few media reports are claiming that John Farrell, Red Sox pitching coach, is going to be announced as the next Blue Jays manager.

The Jays could be holding off making an announcement until after Farrell has assembled his coaching staff. If Farrell is their guy and they don't announce it before Sunday, then they have to wait until after the World Series is complete before they announce the name of the new manager.I just heard this on the FAN, it is unofficial at this point. Hmm. I did not think of that. The Jays could be holding off making an announcement until after Farrell has assembled his coaching staff. The 3 GM's who claim to know that Farrell is going to be the new manager might know because Farrell has asked for permission from a few teams to talk to some of their people about taking accepting a job with the Blue Jays.
I don't know about you or any of the other TERB sport management experts, but I am not afraid to admit that AA knows a hell of a lot more and is privy to all the meetings and inside info that I do not have access to and as such I will assume he makes better choices than I would, regardless of what my parameters would be.Hmm. I did not think of that.
I would have preferred someone with managerial experience as well as the ability to handle pitchers, but one cannot have everything.
I think he did a pretty good job with that redsox staff,,,,He got Clay Buckholtz on the right track.Hmm. I did not think of that.

Also he'll provide some invaluable insight on the Boston pitchers. Hopefully Toronto can then do better next year versus them.I think he did a pretty good job with that redsox staff,,,,He got Clay Buckholtz on the right track.
