I think he did a pretty good job with that redsox staff,,,,He got Clay Buckholtz on the right track.
He did, but I also think it is important to mention that the Red Sox draft very well and are not shy about spending money to sign their draft picks. Farrell did well with the Sox and he had great talent to work with.

With that being said, I think it is a great hire for the Jays.

The Jays have pitching talent as well so maybe he will feel right at home.

He won the Hank Aaron award for most outstanding offensive player. I believe that the MVP is a different award.
You could be right, it's gets confusing some times. I guess this means he'll be out of the MVP award. Wouldn't want three awards to north of the border.

I think only 15 men (no women) have hit more HR's in a single season than Jose in 110 years of MLB and some of those were steroid aided. Can you name any of those guys?

But you do want the MVP to go someone more deserving in Josh Hamilton.

Great year for Bautista, but Hamilton has the team, position, clear factors to put him ahead.

Interesting. I know Gregg wasn't "lights out" but he was decent. I figured he was good enough for a team that isn't quite yet ready to seriously contend. Wonder what the line of thinking was. Money? Problems in the clubhouse?

I would like to see Kerry Wood as the Jays closer. A long shot it may be, but that is my Christmas wish for the Jays.
I would not mind if Gregg came back as a set up man, come in to get one or two guys out in the seventh or eighth.

I would like to see Downs come back for that.

Maybe the Jays could convert Jesse Litsch to a reliever. I don't think he has the stuff to go 6 or 7 quality innings before the opposing hitters catch up to him.

I liked the stuff that Camp had - Lot's of movement on his fastball.

I wonder if he has the mentality to be a closer...

But whenever he pitched you were always on pins and needles hoping he'd make it through the inning.

How many 3 up 3 down innings did he have...I'd say not many.

I read a stat that Gregg's ERA was over 7.00 in his second appearance of pitching in back to back games!

For sure he was tough to watch but he did end out between 35-40 saves without about 6 blown saves. As I said decent for a team just over .500.

The worst to watch for nibbling was Miguel Batista. I think he blew a higher percentage of saves than Gregg.

AA seems to think there are options out there and so far I trust him.
