It's amusing to watch zionism self destruct. But, that's what always happens to lunatic ideologies. Now Israel wants "Non-Jews" to declare a loyalty oath to Israel as a jewish state.

I urge everyone to read the delusional baffle-gab that Netanyahoo spouts about Israel's commitment to democracy.

"Cabinet ministers on Sunday approved by a majority vote a controversial proposal which would require every non-Jew wishing to become a citizen of Israel would have to vow loyalty to "the State of Israel as a Jewish and democratic state."

It has not been approved yet, since it still has to be approved by the Knesset.

It would be a good law, however, it should apply to anybody who wants to be an Israeli citizen.

If I were to move to Iran could I refuse to accept the state religion and work to publicly promote Christianity?

Israel has Muslims and other non-Jew citizens. Hmmm...let's see which Muslim countries let Jews be first rate citizens the way Gryf and his delusional retards think Muslims would treat non-Muslims so much better ...

Iran has Jewish members of parliament.
Guess that makes Iran a more liberated country now, as they don't require oaths to another religion/race and accord Jews equal status to Muslem in their constitution.
Must be sucking to be backing a state that is simultaneously pushing apartheid and fascism.

Seems more reasonable than new citizens to Canada have to swear allegiance to the Queen.

Should be one oath for all citizens, doesn't matter what the oath is, that's up to them, but it should be the same for everyone.

Unless of course they converted from Islam to another Relgion.

Nope. Not members. Member. Iran has one token Jew in its Parliament, and Jews are not permitted to have any more than that one token seat. A Jew cannot run for any of the other seats in the Iranian parliament--it's illegal. Your notion that they have any kind of equality in Iran is idiotic.

Meanwhile Arabs in Israel are free to run for the Israeli parliament (knesset) and there's really no restriction on their ability to do so, there are in fact currently 14 of them.

I don't see any problem with Malaysia being an Islamic state or with Israel being a Jewish state. I wouldn't choose to live in either country but I respect people's right to set up their country however they like.

I am fully expecting that the future Palestinian state will be an Islamic state and I see no problem with that either.

The key question is not whether there's a state religion, but whether the country affords its citizens basic human rights. After that the next most important question is how democratic it is. Whether it has a state religion or not is irrelevant, unless its dedication to the state religion somewhere infringes on people's rights.

In Saudi Arabia I'd say the state religion infringes on people's rights. In Israel, the UK, and Malaysia the state religion does not.

Your lack of knowledge regarding these issues continues to lower the quality of exchanges. Palestinians make up 20% of the population of Israel but have barely more than 10% of the seats in the Knesset. In other words, they are under represented.

Jews in Iran number less than 40,000 in a country of 75 million. A fraction of a fraction of 1%. What you call a token is in fact a positive gesture of inclusion that would be unimaginable in Israel.

Iran is such a paradise for Jews, I wonder why there are so few there?

Jews and Muslem are accorded the same rights under the Iranian constitution.
That's more equal now then Israel.
Nope,

All Minorities (Including Sunni Muslims) are barred from running for President.

Compensation for a Death is less for a non muslim. (inheritence)

Jewish, Christian and Zoroastrian schools must be run by Muslim principals

Bahá'í Faith cannot run for any elected office, and has no regonition or protection under Iranian Law.

Need I mention how Homosexuals are treated ?

Women in Iran can inherit only half as much of their parents' wealth as their brothers.

You do not know of what you speak Flub.

I'll just go and quote a little wiki for your edutainment.

The Constitution of Iran says that Jews are equal to Muslims. Imam Khomeini visited with members of the Jewish community and issued a decree ordering the adherents of Judaism and other revealed religions to be protected. Jews are entitled to self-administration and one member of the 290-seat Majlis is elected by only Jews. Jewish burial rites and divorce laws are accepted by Islamic courts. Tehran has over 20 synagogues. Iran has one of only four Jewish charity hospitals in the world. The hospital has received donations from top Iranian officials, including President Ahmadinejad. Kosher butcher shops are available in Iran. There are Hebrew schools and coeducation is allowed.[57]

Jews are conscripted into the Army like all Iranian citizens. Many Iranian Jews fought during the Iran-Iraq war (1980–1988) as drafted soldiers. About 15 were killed.[58] It has been reported that Jews in Iran are proud of their heritage. Thus, they have not settled in Israel despite being encouraged by some groups.[57]
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Persian_Jews#Current_status_in_Iran

Now, I'll say that the current president of Iran is an ass, they have quite a few policies which are disgraceful and a number of other issues, but I say that of Israel as well. And I stand by my assertion, Jews are accorded the same rights as Muslem under the constitution, because its correct.
