No whining from American basketball players. It seems to me that Australians have won the Gold Medal in public whining so far.
That might be true I hope, the athletes worked hard for the past four years training. We should give them a chance and let the games play out and ignore the doomsayers. The beauty of the sport is that the outcome is so unpredictable and riveting. It will be a GREAT Olympics. Sport makes the game not the venue.
Not the first time they've done that.... I think even Coach K ....No whining from American basketball players.

A two part sentence. While I was happy for Genie, I was sad by what befell Vincenzo Nibali. He should not have been at the Olympics, he won the Giro then took part in the Tour and the worst happened. He broke both his collarbones - that's painful! Please splain (Lucy).
Italy and South Korea often start well because of the sports scheduling. They don't finish so well.I'm surprised that Italy is in the Top 10 of the medal haul so far. They won several in fencing which is expected but they also picked up gold in Judo - a surprise.

I'm sure it will be a good show on TV. Unless some disaster happens, like a terror attack or people are contracting Zika left and right.
The real story is after it's over, when the cameras go home and Rio counts the real cost of putting this show on. All the money being spent on the demands from the IOC, was it a good decision? That probably won't be answered for years to come.
