The Moroccan Steel Curtain strikes again...the only nation that's scored against them is Canada.

Their defense is grim, they cannot be broken down with direct attacks, their positional play is too strong. This was a match CR7 needed to start, if for nothing else to hold up the defenders. The bitter reality, the Portuguese crosses and corners were abysmal. Too many opportunities squandered. Bruno Fernandes may not be good enough to be a trequartista, Jeao Felix should have been in that role.

Can an Arab country win the World Cup...this almost a home game for them.
Morocco is not an Arab country, it’s an African country, North African to be specific.

Morocco is a Muslim country. Official languages are Arab and Berber.

With Morocco and Croatia, at this point, you'd have to say that Canada was playing in the toughest of the 8 divisions. And Belgium was the top seed.

Ironic, isn't it?

It will be forever remembered that CR7's last World Cup game ever was a 1 - 0 loss to Morocco where he came off the bench.
Doubtful.

That's like saying that Muhammad Ali will forever be remembered for getting pummeled by Larry Holmes or Gretzky will be forever remembered for only scoring 9 goals in his last season.

There is already a statue of him on Madeira.

Sure, your statement proves my point. Ali getting pummeled, the Gretzky goals, Babe Ruth screwing himself out being the Yankees manager, all these details are not forgotten. It's part of the entire legacy package and will always be.

CR7 has phenomenal football skills. You'll have a hard time finding a more arrogant, selfish, petulant player of his ilk.

If his attitude was better he wouldn't be benched for this game. If he had started, he might have scored a goal earlier and the game could have had a different outcome. He hurt his team, mates and even his country.

Morocco's defense looks impenetrable but can be broken down with short quick passes, Argentina's forte,
Portugal came close but the clock was ticking and they panicked and resorted to useless crosses.

He'll be remembered for what he has done overall and the majority of that comes mainly at the club level. And as great as he has been at the club level he's pretty much been non existent when it comes to the WC or even the Euros. He only just got his first goal in the knockout stages of a WC at this tournament that's a stat you cannot ignore when you look at his overall career.

Well done, the lads from Morocco are very commendable. They fought with generosity, they fought hard and in the end they won. Honor to them. But please don't tell me that Morocco is one of the best 4 soccer teams in the world.

I could tell in the first 10 minutes that France was going to win, there was a lot of hesitation with the English.. Can you imagine France losing against Morocco? I can't see it happen.

Depends on your definition of best 4. Brazil is definitely one of the best 4 imo
but that doesn't mean much if you lose in the knockout stage.
I think Portugal is technically the best team but they won't be wc champions.

The best team I've ever seen was Brazil's 1982 squad but they lost to Italy, a team with a much better defense.
