OK but nobody expected them to get anywhere near the semi-finals, let alone the final. So they will in time reflect and feel pride for their achievements.
Sterling got a lot of criticism in the English press for his performances before last night's game. I suspect the team and manager wanted to give him the chance to redeem himself by feeding him all those long balls. Didn't work though and led to a kind of game that didn't play to England's great strengths in set piece play.
Maybe England should have played Rashford earlier. He actually gave the Croatia some problems.

Myself, being English, hate their snobby attitude but that hate is reserved for the elite, not the common man
They love their football so I was happy to see the joy the world cup brings shine on merry old England, nothing comes close to the joy of a world cup and it is coming to Canada
BTW, as they were not expected to get to the semi so it was not the most bitter of pills to swallow
They still got one game left but with two days rest after one grueling match they will have to "cowboy up"as they say in bronco riding
They finished that game one man short as pulled muscles took their toll on some of the most fittest of the worlds athletes

I'm rooting for France to win the finals. However, what I really wanted to see on Sunday was France vs England and we all know that is not happening. 
This World Cup I'm not betting any money on it, but I'll bold this and you can quote me on this. Croatia will win on Sunday and finally lift it's curse from 1998.
Although, I'm begging to be wrong on the above. LOL
Have no idea where to watch Saturday's match, but we have a reserved table at one of the bar's listed below for Sunday's final.

Hope both the French and Croatian sexy females fans show up in huge numbers to support their countries at the World Cup viewing party I'll be attending today.
Frankly I though Kane was more of a burden than anything else in the games against Belgium & Coratia. He'll get his golden boot thanks to Panama though.
Tough for the English fans. But in the press and official circles it seems they were already so bitter and frustrated by how smoothly Russia's hosting of the WC has one that they seemed unable to enjoy their own team's best result in 30 years.
In reality it was huge tournament for England and only unrealistic expectations could frame it as disappointing. England is like the Maple Leafs, haven't won since the mid-60's and haven't threatened since the early-90's. It's absolutely spectacular for them to have gotten to a semi-final ahead of several more gifted teams.
I think France has been underrated since Game 3 of the group stages. To me they've looked in a different league altogether from the rest of the field. Not necessarily having the best players man-for-man, but just looking like a team that's been together much more than the others. They look national teams from previous eras when groups tended to stay together longer and knew each other better from playing most of their careers in their domestic leagues. It's an element that's been disappearing from international football over the past 20 years.
Having said that Croatia has an energy and sense of common purpose to their campaign and more than a few players who can hook up to throw a wrench in the gears of a good teams with moments of inspiration. However this they won't be able to afford the tired and stiff start like the first 30 minutes of the England game.
Tie game this is shaping up to be a colossal final!
