I hope you're talking about the H1, not the H2 OR 3, apparently they're complete pieces of mechanical crap. Buddy who is a phenomenal mechanic told me, he wouldn't take it, even if it was offered to him for free.Alexis696969 said:its kewl to ride low but then the cops think your high lol
the other mobile i drove for a couple months was a hummer but it was the most uncomfortable ride i ever had including men ! But i liked the fact it could probably drive over those smart cars lol

Take one for a spin before you decide on anything.
i dont necessarily think that weather is an issue if he already has an SUV, i'd go with something bulletproof like the honda1hornychinaman said:Don't get a benz. They're continually ranked the worst among the german luxury car manufactueres in customer satisfaction. I remember hearing on Top Gear at one point they were as low as 9th from the bottom. You can google the JD Power UK satisfaction survey to get an idea.
I would purchase a Legacy, I'm just a big scoobi fan and I've owned a Impreza 2.5 RS and a 2001 Legacy GT. Both were incredible cars and I dont think you'll get a better car for canadian weather. The only downside is that they're semi-expensive to maintain. Because of the Boxer engine, a lot of the major stuff like transmission and engine are hard to access and result in high labour costs. Also, they're AWD and that sucks on gas as well. But aside from that you can't get a better car for canadian weather.
And here I was hoping to see a cute Italian gal, she better not be PhninePHNINE said:The Vespa would go great with my new sun dress, and totally bring out the color in my eyes. LOL
Great looking exterior. Too bad about pour service. Decent value for the dollar. Most auto critic complain lack of truck space.simontemplar said:what about the new saturn red line "sky" convertible i just saw in the star today?
You're fooling yourself if you think Honda and Acura are bullet proof. There's plenty of problems with them. Auto trans failures being extremely high in TLs, etc.jbar said:Stay from Nissan; I know of 4 people who have sunk thousands of dollars into their respective Altima's.
With regards to the Subaru, let me tell you a little story; my father had a two of them - both lemons. The NEWER of the two ate up three catalyic converters (at a cost of $1,200 each) in the span of 2 months. The car is equiped with 2 of them running in series (eg. one in front of the other). The first one that blew was the one closest to the exhaust pipe. A few months later, the one closest to the motor blew, and in the process, the contents of the aftermath of this explosion is sent to the second converter nearest to the exhaust (just replaced) due to the back pressure, and proceeds to blow it up. Nice eh? My father has a list of everything that has happened somewhere, and he swears that he is going to construct a website listing all of his repairs on the Subaru (about $12,000 worth). Subaru is an anomally within the eastern-produced cars (just like Saab from Europe). Can we get any stranger/uglier cars?
Anyways, stick with Acura and Honda. Sure, their parts may be expensive, but they never really need them (unlike Nissan and the beaten-with-an-ugly-stick Subaru). They retain their value, and have the best gearboxs (both manual and auto) coming from a Japanese nameplate.
That's only in Canada, where every parrots what auto journalists say. Mitsubishis have an extremely big following and are considered extremely cool and classic Japanese look, in the tradition of very enduring cars such as the mid 80's Cresida & Maximas.goodtime said:In terms of Lancer, great rally car, boring exterior. Mitsu need some exciting designs.
I never said that Honda/Acura are bulletproof, and in terms of judging them against Nissan/Subaru/whatever, I'm going by 20 years of experience. There are also plenty of forums (eg. Carsurvey.com) where people discuss their problems so that the automakers can't hide (think of it as a Terb for cars).skihrdr said:You're fooling yourself if you think Honda and Acura are bullet proof. All manufacturers have their problems, some just do a better job at minimizing the publicity their problems get.
How old was your dad's subie? The cats are covered under emissions warranty for, I believe 7years/150k.
